SOLVED. I can't remember the book - Hero teaches heroine how sinister men can be; takes her to brothels [s]

Hi,

I am looking for book but the only thing I can remember is hero is trying to teach the heroine a lesson about how sinister men can be. The Heroine ran away at some point to only be bought by the hero and she was kinda stored in a whore house. In one scene the heroine was made to go into a room and watch from behind a two mirror the actions between a prostitute and a customer. I can't remember if this was just to teach the girl not to be dependent on men or what as it has been a rather long time since i have read it. I hope I am not crossing two books.

Probably not it since it's a historical and some details don't match, but Never a Gentleman by Eileen Dryer has a similar scene (view spoiler)[where the heroine is in a brothel and made to watch thru a two-way mirror while her husband is having sex with a prostitute. Husband is a spy and has reasons for it but she doesn't know them and the guy -also a spy- who is making her watch is doing it to hurt her. (hide spoiler)]
