I looove The Fault in Our Stars! Definitely a great choice! I'll be rereading it along with you guys. :)
I've read the book before and I hated it... But I'm willing to try again with you guys. Maybe after the second time I'll feel different about it.

I read it on my own and finished it in the middle of March, so it's pretty fresh in my mind to anyone that wants to discuss it! :)
I'm halfway right now! Its really good!! I love the characters and the writing style. I only wish there was a little bit more Isaac ;) Maybe there is more of him later.
I just finished The Fault in Our Stars! OMG I CRIED A LOT! And than i mean A LOOOTTT!!!I was spoiled about the ending before I started reading, so when I started i was like "I'm nog going to cry about this book" But then, when it comes to the end, I did :'(
I'm not feeling depressed right now, I think the ending was beautiful but very emotional.
I loved this book so much and I'm going to discuss it with you all when you're finished!
I ended up putting it down like 4 days ago. In just couldn't do it again. But glad you liked it!

I know! I'm rereading it at the moment, but I remember looking up what people had to say about it before I read it for the first time and everyone was saying how sad it was. When I started reading it, I was like, "Okay, this isn't too bad, it's not really that sad..." but then farther into the book I got it. It was basically a constant stream of tears when reading.

YES! INDEED! In the beginning it's all very funny and i laughed almost every dialog. But when you're read 70% of the book it starts getting very emotional.
I understand what al the hype is about, but I don't think it's my favorite stand-alone book.
This is great books so far. I love the characters and the way they handle the cancer. As a 7th grade lit. teacher, I love the vocabulary! I hate that I need a tissue half the time; goodness, so sad.
I just finished this book, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how much the last two chapters made me love the book even more. I was reading the book because so many of my 7th grade students just gushed over it. So, I started and had to admit to them that all I did was snivel and sob at the storyline. Yes, I liked it, but it contained a bit too much dialoged. I was pleased at the advanced vocabulary; I worked it in to many of the conversations I had in class. But I still wasn't a huge fan.
Then I finished the book. Those last two chapters were so uplifting even though they precluded sad events to come.
From a literary stand point, I was pleased that resolution and denouement were so well developed. So many books just come to an abrupt halt and even though you are given plenty of leeway to form your own opinion, you just feel like a few more details could have shaped the plot and provided closure.
I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!
I look forward to the next selection.

So I know this was a book for April but I only recently joined the club and just finished reading the book.. And I, along with many others, were brought to tears. The storyline was emotional, and very well written. I have to give kudos to any book that can make me cry. I really loved the way that Hazel and Augustus spoke to each other, so mature in the face of everything. Favourite character would have to be Issac though, and wish there was more in it. Hate the way Monica treated him though.

Omg I know I know I'm late but I loved this book, it was so good and the note at the end had me in tears.
