Laura | 71 comments I found his death very unsatisfying after everything he did! It should've been an epic fight with some serious revenge.

message 52: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (ravenandthehawk) | 387 comments @Laura, I know right.

message 53: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 128 comments I personally loved that Aelin relinquished that job to Lysandra. It showed so much growth & it showed how much of that vengeance she has let go. However, I also see that for the "big" picture, she needed to be far far away, because she was the logical choice to kill him.

message 54: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Laura I agree. I wanted a more dramatic death

message 55: by Xoxoasia (new)

Xoxoasia | 97 comments Yeah, his death was a little anti-climatic. I mean, he's the King of Assassin's! I loved how Lysandra was the one who killed him, but Aelin would of made it more interesting.

message 56: by Lexie (new)

Lexie That's precisely how I felt.

message 57: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 86 comments I wanted them to kill him how he killed Sam! Aelin and Lysandra could have done it together.

message 58: by Xoxoasia (new)

Xoxoasia | 97 comments @Lacey Arobynn did deserve it.

message 59: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 86 comments This is going to sound really creepy but I wanted then to drag his death out!!

message 60: by Diane (new)

Diane (mystifiedswift) @Lacy Well, Sam's death was dragged out. Why not Arobynn? That's perfectly normal

message 61: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 86 comments My exact thoughts @Diane!!

KritikaB | 10 comments Diane wrote: "@Lacy Well, Sam's death was dragged out. Why not Arobynn? That's perfectly normal"

That's how I felt too! I kind of want a bit of revenge for Sam because he was tortured and it broke my heart. I was expecting a fight between Aelin vs.Arobynn and I was surprised that he was killed so simply. I would have thought that the king of assassin will be harder to outwit and kill.

message 64: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Yeah that's how I felt. The way Arobynn was betrayed made him seem like he would be much harder to kill.

message 65: by Xoxoasia (new)

Xoxoasia | 97 comments Exactly. If Aelin would of killed him, there would of been alot more action.

message 66: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 86 comments I wanted him to see who was killing him. He never even knew it was Lysandra!

message 67: by Desini (new)

Desini Snyder | 346 comments I can see why lysandra or aelin just killed him the way they did. They both must sick and tired of the back stabbing and killing. They just wanted to get rid of arobynn. He drowned in his own blood fully aware of what was happening, that is pretty bad.

message 68: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I suppose if you imagine what Arobynn must've been thinking/feeling when he was lying there choking to death on his own blood. And maybe Lysandra was staring down at him, watching him die, so he knew it was her. I reckon we kind of needed a chapter in Lysandra's POV in that moment to see what happened.

message 69: by Laura (new)

Laura | 71 comments God we sound so morbid haha! But true I think a pov from Lysandra would be interesting from that scene. Yeah I hope he knew it was Lysandra who killed him

message 70: by Desini (new)

Desini Snyder | 346 comments She deserved it. I cant even imagine being a sex slave. Especially to him, she said he left bruises on his arm.

message 71: by Desini (new)

Desini Snyder | 346 comments *her not his

message 72: by Winnie (new)

Winnie MWAHAHA I am from the future and I have read Queen of Shadows!

fabricofbooks | 54 comments Iffat wrote: "His death was so anticlimactic considering the drama queen both he and Aelin were/are."

Exactly, really Lysandra? Just go ahead and listen to him gurgle as he blood fills his throat and airways! I really wish Aelin had killed him but I guess that Lysandra had gone through just as much. I thnk t would've been better if she had looked him in the eyes and he had loked into hers as she killed him... but maybe that's me thinking a little to much like a phsycopath. Just maybe.

message 74: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 86 comments @Fanficofbooks I totally agree!! I wanted Aelin to look him in the eye and as he died he felt that same betrayal she had when Sam died! Sorry if that sounds really creepy

message 75: by Desini (new)

Desini Snyder | 346 comments Aelin did get to behead him

message 76: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I felt the same, Arobynn's death wasn't climactic enough, especially with how threatening he was made to seem. I honestly wanted a big battle between Aelin and Arobynn, with Aelin finally winning, and getting her revenge for Sam. Or maybe Aelin and Lysandra could've fought him but Aelin land the killing blow. Honestly the way in which Arobynn died wasn't satisfying enough.

message 77: by Desini (new)

Desini Snyder | 346 comments It was a lottle anti climatic. If he killed wesley and was so feared why was it so easy to kill him? It could be because he lost the wyrd key. He lost his power that made him so hard to kill.

message 78: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 86 comments @Lexie I totally agree I felt like Aryboyn was portrayed as this man who was practically invincible and then for him to die so fast. I felt like it was too easy. If it was that simple why didn't they kill him earlier on and eliminate so many problems.

message 79: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 86 comments @Desini that might be why!!! He lost the wrdkey, it makes sense!!

message 80: by Desini (new)

Desini Snyder | 346 comments I just made that connection like five minutes ago. I felt the death was deserved, i mean i was satisfied. But it bothered me a while how easy it was.

message 81: by Kai (new)

Kai P | 30 comments Yep true I agree with all of you it was too anti-climatic but continuing on from what Desini said I think Sarah wanted to show how weak he was now without the wyrdkey in his possession. How he wasn't this invincible assassin but this man that was just evil.

message 82: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (ravenandthehawk) | 387 comments At least we got his death (revenge or justiceor both) it's better than nothing, but is still needs more spice in the mix too.

message 83: by MillieS02 (new)

MillieS02 | 112 comments I loved when Aelin beheaded him. He caused her to suffer all these years, he deserved it!

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

I would like to learn more about Arobynn, like how did he become an assassin? I hated him, but he was very intriguing. I think a novella about him would be interesting to read.

Maybe Sarah put it in Assasians Blade? Idk. I felt like the backstory would have ruined the series for me so I am reading it after I finish all the books.

Maybe..."

It's not in the Assassins Blade, but all we know is that he clawed his way up.
SPOILER if you haven read QoS:..
The thing is Aelin wants to get the Wyrdkey thats in the Amulet of Orynth back from him, and Aelin began to think that maybe Arobynn has unintentionally used the Wyrdkey in order to get to where he was. But then again maybe that is all wrong and the Wyrdkey only answers to people with magic in their blood.

message 87: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Yeah I hated Arobynn but at the same time he was such an interesting character! He was so intriguing, and I did kind of want to know more about him.

message 88: by MillieS02 (new)

MillieS02 | 112 comments I feel like he was very scarred as a child to be able to grow up as such a monster. Killing Sam and torturing Aelin, lets not even start with Lysandra. I feel like maybe his parents were some royalty and thats why he hated Aelin for being powerful? Or maybe his parents didnt give one shit about him and he grew up lonely???

SO MANY QUESTIONS AHHH

message 89: by SaraLRW (new)

SaraLRW (celaenaputsthesassinassassin) | 18 comments I think he was probably orphaned at a very young age.
Maybe Arobynn Hamel isn't even his real name ?? I also think he's a very interesting character but I'm too disgusted by him to care enough.

True, he's dead anyways, even if we were all wrong about him it doesn't matter anymore. He's dead and gone.

message 91: by Iffat (new)

Iffat | 5 comments I agree with everyone, he really was an interesting character. But whenever he was around I got very anxious and fidgety. It's better for him to be out of the picture considering all that's happening. Him being another threat to worry about is too much.

But I would like to hear his story and what was going through his head when he found and kept Ailen.
