SOLVED. Looking for an unusual book - some pages are written in columns, some bits go round in circles, some are written in square format [s]

Hello!
About a year ago a lecturer bought her favourite book to a seminar, the book was totally unusual and nothing like I'd seen before. So, it didn't follow the usual layout, some pages are written in columns, some bits go round in circles, some are written in square format? It also has different components, such as a post card and other objects?
I know it has a really simple name, just one word, Ship or Key keep coming to mind but I don't think its either of those.

RitaSkeeter's suggestion S. is about a fictional book called the Ship of Theseus, so that would also cover the Ship thing that you remember.

How sure are you that the title was a single word? The "different components" aspects and the weird layout sound a lot like Griffin and Sabine. Even if it's NOT that, be sure and give that one a look. It's actually quite amazing as an alternate way to tell a story.
