I am about 90% sure the book I am looking for is by Koontz, King, or Saul; I just don't know which one or what book. They all have sooo many.

The book had a mentally slow guy who was in a institution or something and he would send out his mind to attract a bad force or something. I think in the book it also said like a moron was below and iji and an idiot was above both of those in terms of intelligence???

Read it 15ish years ago, but it could have been one of their earlier books written in the 70/80s...

Don't think I've read Blaze.. I've added that. I'm not such a big fan of King's style, but it looks good!

I've read 'by the light of the moon' about 15 times. really like that one...
