Honestly I didn't like the books very much. I was a little bored of them. But you know what, they might have gotten better at some point after I quit. Let me know how it goes!

You can't be serious. The Hunger Games trilogy is one of the best.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I am serious. I didn't like them. I read the books before ghe movies came out and I'm usually more in love with the books. But this was one of those rare times where I thought the movies were better than the books. I found the books to be a bit boring. But that's my opinion. :) Not gonna judge anyone here who thinks differently. I was just one of the few who didn't like it.

message 19: by Frances (new)

Frances Hampton (FranHampton) | 11 comments I normally read at least 2 books at the same time, (occasionally more).
My current reads are
Chasing Mercy Chasing Mercy (Mercy, #1) by Stacy Claflin
and
Sleep With One Eye Open Sleep With One Eye Open by Beau Johnston

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Still on An Abundance of Katherines.

Aww. That's a bit sad :( Especially for Suzanne Collins.
It's just that the way she wrote it was realistic. All the ignorance,— when Katniss didn't understand Gale's pointless passionate hatred for the government when they can't do anything about it but just survive— the love,— for her sister— the anger,— for her mother who was sick in the worst possible time in their childhood— the madness, pain, acceptance, everything.
But I don't have anything against anyone who thinks differently :) I just didn't think it was possible to dislike the book. Now my eyes are open to any possibilities @.@ haha

message 25: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Dang I thought The Hunger Games trilogy was boring also. I couldn't finish Mockingjay.

Oh I understand that it could be taken as realistic. Lol. The story is amazing. <3 The way it was written was really bad to me. I just couldn't get passed my boredom. But it's ok! To each their own! :)

message 27: by Madelaine (new)

Madelaine Keam (thisistoostessful) I haven't read The Hunger Games books yet,but have seen the movies. Personally I didn't think the movies were that great, I'm not really sure, the acting's good, the story's good, but something felt a little off, and while I enjoyed them something was missing, but I just can't put my finger on what.

Anyway, more on topic... I'm currently reading Boy, Snow, Bird It's not really the type of thing I would normally read, but it's interesting and very well written.

I didn't really like the books when i read them the first time. I'm now re reading them too see if my opinion has changed. When i picked up the first one after ten pages I had my mind set that i didn't like them so that could have influenced my opinion on them i guess. So you're not alone xD

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. Some people just have their own definition of good! XD I don't like not liking books but it happens!

message 37: by Chloe (new)

Chloe Blackburn (onlyabookaway) | 39 comments Yeah I just finished the first book (the hunger games) and I dunno kind of feels rushedxD. besides you're not supposed to like every single book!

Chloe-Alex wrote: "Yeah I just finished the first book (the hunger games) and I dunno kind of feels rushedxD. besides you're not supposed to like every single book!"

It's true! Lol. Some books I feel are too rushed or they have a great concept but the story is not written well, or for me it's just boring.

If we all liked every book then reading wouldn't be as fun as it is. Lol.

message 39: by Chloe (new)

Chloe Blackburn (onlyabookaway) | 39 comments Yeah. I liked the whole idea of the hunger games it just felt rushed in the writing during the end it was all happening I think too fast?

Exactly!!
