Abigail Young | 26 comments I do not remember much of the book...

The thing that set this book apart was an heirloom or something. It has some significance in the story.

The book is over five years old... probably even ten years old.

Harsh mother... Groom is tricked into not liking the bride and thinking she's evil...

Set in the Middle Ages- Regency in U.K. somewhere

He's well off. Lives in castle/ manor/ estate, something like that. She fights with Mother-in-law over how taking care of the house.

Mother-in-law tries to kill her.

There might be a ghost in it.... Not sure.

Its Highland romance, Historical, Adult, maybe some magic... and love-hate in it.

I hope this helps. It's been on the tip of my brain, please help me.

Thank you

Charlene I came across a book the other day that might be what you're looking for. I haven't read it yet so I don't know anything about the story myself other than the publisher's blurb but it sounds pretty close and there is a jewel on the cover -

The Ruby Brooch (Celtic Brooch Trilogy, #1) by Katherine Lowry Logan

So, this is a paranormal romance for older (not younger) adults?

What causes the heroine to travel back in time -- or the hero to travel forward in time?

What else do you remember about the characters (e.g., their jobs, personalities, locations)?

What's the main crisis or point of tension in the story? Or what makes the story memorable?

Ms.soule (mrssoule) | 109 comments Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, #4) by Karen Marie Moning - both the heroine goes back and the hero goes forward in this one. Pocketwatch on this cover is an heirloom.

Mariyam | 47 comments Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series have different book covers. And in that series, the girl goes to the past, the guy comes to the future, they both go back to the past, they both comes to the future. In each book, ending is different.
Try reading the synopsis of the books.

Crystal Dawn (crystal_dawn) | 40 comments How to Abduct a Highland Lord is part of the McCleans Curse series. I haven't finished reading it yet, but it could fit. All of my other suggestions have been made, it's surprising how many books sound the same when looked at.
