Manju P Please give suggestions to keep this group active...

It doesn't feel good to see that such a wonderful group is inactive...

Let's find some ways to keep it active...

Expecting suggestions.... :)

Jessica I'd suggest a book of the month but that didn't seem to work.

LobsterQuadrille | 19 comments Maybe some more polls, more discussions, some kind of ongoing word game(like Alphabet Book Titles or something)...

I do agree.....

Other than Anne of Green Gables.. There are so many books written by Montgomery.

Let's add more challenges/games..

More suggestions are welcome...

Manju P Hey...

Would like to know whether all the members are ready for expanding the group reads..

For example, there are books like Before Green Gables, which are not written by L M Montgomery but it looks interesting.

Please let us know your suggestions.

Jessica That would be a great idea! I've read Before Green Gables though and I can't honestly recommend it but like I said that's a great idea.

Debbie I think we definitely need a book of the month. It would give the group direction.

message 10: by Karis (new)

Karis Thanks and to you as well.

It is sad that the group is so inactive. I think everyone is busy with Christmas and New Year plans right now. I' ll try think of some ideas and share them after this busy time of the year. Maybe we could all do that?

I just finished re-reading "The Golden Road", the sequel to "The Story Girl", and really enjoyed revisiting it! There are so many great quotes in this book, so here are a few of my favorites:

- "There's something very solemn about the idea of a New Year, isn't there? Just think of three hundred and sixty-five whole days, with not a thing happened in them yet."

-"I shall never get drunk," wrote Peter painstakingly.
"But you never do," said the Story Girl in astonishment.
"Well, it will be all the easier to keep the resolution," argued Peter.

- "I'm going to make a resolution to say just what I think always."
"And do you expect to get through the year alive if you do?"

-"He was so thin Uncle Roger used to say he always mistook him for a crack in the atmosphere."

-"...the only difference between me and other folks is that I say these things out loud and they just think them."

-"It's so easy to believe in things in the woods."

message 22: by Aimee (new)

Aimee Reynolds | 1 comments Hello, I'm new here! Has anyone seen "Anne the Series" yet? I know it's aired in Canada already. I'll be able to see it May 12 on Netflix. I'm very excited!

message 23: by Elinor (new)

Elinor I just finished Anne the Series and while I can't get enough of Anne, I thought there were some flaws. And the ending was so abrupt that it startled me! I can only assume they are gearing up for a second season! The actress was very good, however, and that's the main thing.
