Up to Chapter 3 (view spoiler)[ The story seems interesting enough right now. Obviously Dev has something to do with the crystal. Maybe his family is meant to protect hers? I don't really see them being bad guys just because they would have done something by now. Is Dev even a human?? One thing I don't really like already is how self deprecating Allie is. She talks about how she isn't pretty and she hates it and so on and so forth, but does anyone look gorgeous in their preteen years? No. Hopefully, Allie stops thinking of herself as ugly! (hide spoiler)] Excited to see where the story takes us!

Up to Chapter 11 (view spoiler)[ It's been a fun read so far! I feel like Dev will rescue Allie in the nick of time because that is what happens in YA books between love interests. *sigh* cliches. I hope that Tic is okay! (hide spoiler)] Much better than I expected!

Up to Chapter 18! (view spoiler)[ There were some pretty slow bits from chapter 11 to here. The last chapter though, was pretty exillerating. I don't like how there seems to be a love triangle brewing in the subplots. Ugh. Other than that, no real complaints. It's dumb for Allie to think she can just say no and get out of this whole ordeal. She was born into it; there's no way to escape from it! (hide spoiler)] Overall, it seems like a solid 3 star read! :)
