D.E. Jackson (Wo1f) | 3 comments I still cannot post a video. I'm now only using the URL instead of the embedded. It still won't allow me to post it. Here is the YouTube video. Hopefully it will show. https://youtu.be/SI8nW_R0B8w

Thank You!

I was able to add the video to your page using the full URL. You can now go in and edit the details. Let me know if you have any further trouble with this!

D.E. Jackson (Wo1f) | 3 comments YAY! Thank you so much Jaclyn! As I'm looking at the URL, it does look a bit different than what I had yesterday.

I looked under the embedded code and I think I can see how I can do this in the future. I just need to edit out embed/ from https://www.youtube.com/embed/SI8nW_R...
and insert watch?v= no backslash.

It's puzzling why YouTube doesn't give it to me in the way you were able to do it.

Thank you again so much! :)

Jaclyn (jaclyn_w) | 417 comments You're so welcome! For me, they key was to use the URL in the address bar. :)

Nancy Sustersic (nancysustersic) | 3 comments I'm new so this may sound odd, I made a video from my iphone and posted it on my FB fan page. I didn't make it a Youtube though. Would I be able to post it on my page and if so what is the process to transfer?

Thank you in advance,
Nancy

Jaclyn (jaclyn_w) | 417 comments Hi Nancy, and welcome! Currently, Goodreads only supports videos on YouTube.com and Livestream.com.

It looks like you haven't yet joined the Author Program on Goodreads. If you'd like to, here's how:

1. Navigate to the profile of one of your books.
2. Underneath your book's title, you'll see the "by" line with your name. Click on your name.
3. You should now be on your author profile. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.
4. Click on "Is this you? Let us know."
5. You are now on the author application page. Write in the box whether there are any books on your author profile that aren't yours and submit. Staff will then approve your request to claim that author profile within 2 business days.

Let me know if you have any trouble with this!

We are making a few minor but hopefully impactful changes to how videos function on the site, and wanted to give you a heads-up so you can continue sharing your videos with friends ..."

I want to livestream and record a series of book club (Original voices) meetings in real time, and then have videos posted on the site for anyone who missed the chat. How can I do that? Do you accept Picarto or other meeting videos?

Jaclyn (jaclyn_w) | 417 comments Hi Paula! You can add a video to an author profile as long as it's hosted on YouTube or Livestream. Here's how:

1. Navigate to the video you'd like to add.
2. Copy the video URL. You can usually do this by right-clicking the video player and selecting "Copy URL."
3. Navigate to the author profile on Goodreads. On the left side of the page, click on "Add New" next to "Videos."
4. On the next page, fill in the video details, and be sure to paste the URL into the "Video URL" field. Click on "save" at the bottom.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to let me know!
