Spoilers for the first book. Turn back if you haven't read it!
This is a discussion for The Devouring by Simon Holt only. Please do not mention, even hint, about the next books.
I have a few thoughts about the book so I thought I'd start a discussion. I'm really interested to hear other people's opinions.
I found the Vours really interesting. To me, they don't seem truly evil.
They just want to have a normal life where they can feel like humans, but don't have emotional capacity to do so.
Take Quinn, as far as it's hinted he hasn't done anything wrong. In fact, he seemed quite nice. He even helped picked up Reggie's book before he knew that she knew.
I'm also wondering the concequences of the ending. Reggie's Dad already think she tried to hurt her brother and the Vour had been placing doubts into her head.
What's he going to do when he finds out that she took her little brother to a frozen lake and he got frostbite?
Even if Henry tells the truth, he could just think Reggie scared him into compliance.
I'm also interested if the fact that she ate the other Vour will come into play.
So, what are everyone's thoughts and opinions on the book?
