new edition vs change number of pages

This edition has only 252 pages. I see that the ISBN is slightly different from that shown for the hardcover with 272 pages (last digit 7) and wonder if they are two separate editions. The edition I have read is not represented here at Goodreads and I didn't know where else to take my question.

062349316 is only 9 digits. 0062349316 is not a valid ISBN, although 9780062349316 is.

WorldCat confirms that 0062349317/9780062349316 (those are the ISBN10 and ISBN13 that correspond one to the other) has 252 pages. Edited.
