Just want to know I am not alone here. I have plans on catching up on the BOTM reads by the end of the year. I still have The Uninvited and The Boy Who Drew Monsters to read, along with Asylum. I've been reading my NetGalley reads and trying to catch up on some series I have left hanging. Plus, work is insane. I don't get any time to read, even my lunch breaks are consumed with things I need to handle.

Natalie Carey (janeefficiency) | 43 comments I also have some catching up to do. I'm working on The Winter People, The Boy Who Drew Monsters, and I just saw that The Restorer was just added as a series read. I've been wanting to read this for a while. I have a number of books to try and squeeze in before the end of the year for the Horror Aficionados group 2015 reading challenge. Somehow I got caught up reading a bunch of graphic novels (as well as general work and life stuff) and really need to focus on these this month and next. Luckily I have some time off coming up, so I hope I can finish these. ^.^ I also hope to participate more in the group and group reads (on time!).

Darn life getting in the way of reading ;)

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments Ahh, it feels good to know that I'm not alone. Just had a doctor's appointment - that's always good for a large chunk of time waiting!! But also reading, of course. 45 min each way in the car with my audio book, and one hour in the waiting room with my physical book...but it's all good!

Gills Muir | 36 comments Yip me too, haven't started The Boy Who Drew Monsters!

So glad I'm not the only one. Was feeling like a bad moderator. I will be excited when I catch up. I own all of the books, minus Asylum. Haven't got around to purchasing that one yet.

Su Kopil (sukopil) | 41 comments Just saw this thread and feel better that I'm not the only one behind. Wouldn't it be wonderful it we could just sit and read all day?

That would be my dream come true :)

Good luck to those with doctor appointments and physical therapy. I'm fairly new so I have a lot of catching up to do. I have the first Graveyard Queen books and want to read those, and I want to do some of the other reads as well, like The Ritualso big catch ups. This post helps a lot.
Aren't you glad you wrote it now, Trinity?

And today, it begins. Going to finish The Ritual and then work on some that have been piling up. Mostly YA but that is ok. Need a break from all the heavy stuff The Wrath and the Dawn, Truthwitch, Scarlet and Firstlife are on the top of my list :)

Hey, I love YA. A lot of it can be heavy too. Dig in :)

Natalie Carey (janeefficiency) | 43 comments I've fallen a bit behind lately! Still need to read Wine-Dark Sea (so looking forward to it!), and catch up on the Diaries of the Dracul family series. Florence and Giles is one of my Read Harder Challenge books, so that's definitely something I need to read soon. I have a few library books that are first in the queue since they need to go back soon. Hopefully I can catch up on some things by May!

No worries. Me too.

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments Ha, me too! - I'm way behind in group reads and library books that are checked out. But because I am highly open to suggestion, I grabbed my copy of what I saw Shaina was reading, Outlander. Hope it's good, I've had this copy in my closet for years.

Yep. Le sigh. Library books.

I just seem to have hopeless book ADD. I can't seem to settle. I'll read one a bit and be like.. murrrr.... then try another.. so i'm rotating. I did finish The Island of Dr. Moreau though, and lots of random ones and some for the challenge.. I seem to be doing good on that challenge thing. Also, I finished The Visitor ... I'm starting on... The Madman’s Daughter, and that one seems really good so far; however I still have a bit left on The Wine-Dark Sea, and i haven't touched Florence & Giles.
Just so restless lately.... due to.. who knows what.. weather? Yeah. Let's say that. Weather.

I am SO far behind. I am in the process of writing a novel so finding time to read has been a non priority.

Also, with it coming down to the wire for the school year, I haven't had the desire to read much past what I have been doing for school. End of term is always a stressful and tiring time.

I bet. I remember it being like that when I was both a college teacher and grad student. I thought I was frazzling a bit. Hang in there. Do what you gotta do. We are always here for a kind word, some understanding, and a jaunty smiley :-)

LOL, thanks! 2 weeks, then I am off for 3 months!! Woo Hoo!!!

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments The finish line is in sight, Trinity.....you can do it. ;)

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments You survived the end of the school year craziness, Trinity? How is the break going?

message 29: by Trinity (new)

Trinity | 803 comments Mod
I have. Although, I haven't had the opportunity to slow down yet. Tutoring and such, getting ready for vacation, and there is a video game that has somehow consumed my life for the past few weeks, LOL. I will get back on the reading bandwagon soon but my brain has needed a break from everything lately.

Omg. Gotta know... Which one? I love games.

Dragon Age... and I have been consumed with finishing all 3 because I found out you can load all decisions made onto dragonagekeep.com and change the course of 2 and Inquisition based on decisions made in previous games. The story lines are incredible and the characters are as well thought out as any book I've read.

Alright Ladies and Gents, so sorry for the lack of my presence within the group. Just an update. I am writing a novel, NaNoWriMo is in full swing, and haven't been present in much of anything lately. Was just wondering if there are any updates anyone would like to see. Any questions, comments, remarks about the group or its current lack of activity? Anyone missing the newsletter?

Also, should we drop the series read and start nominating one Classic and one Modern each month? Horror series seem hard to come by, unless we want to delve into the long lasting tales of Urban Fantasy.
