Amazon is opening an actual bookstore

In case you have not heard Amazon is opening its first bookstore.

In away its kind of funny everyone blamed amazon for killing all the independent bookstores when really I think Borders did it first.

I do find it interesting they have chosen to actually open a store.

I think if I was a Seattle bookstore I would be pissed, especially if they start stealing my employees.

I heard about it on social media yesterday -- don't remember which one. Certainly ironical! ;) I'm curious to see how it plays out. I just went to Seattle for the first time this summer. I hope to go again and I will definitely have to check out the new store.

Yes. Cute movie. I still love old school bookstores (and by that I mean Mom and Pop, non-chain stores). I have a favorite in NOLA, a couple of blocks off of Bourbon St.; I visit it every chance I get.

I wonder, too. My guess is yes, at least in other major cities. I'm sure it will depend on the success in Seattle.
