Haley Marie | 1 comments Hello, everyone!

I'm an author of a YA Dark Fantasy series, Elementas. I have 2 out of 6 books out, Elementas: Yamay and Elementas: War of the Gods.

But I also recently just did a beta read and review for an author's debut book, and it was a blast!

I read basically any type of fantasy, but prefer dark/grimdark. I don't like the taste of spicy books, so sorry for that. A little romance is fine, but I prefer the adventure.

I base my "stars" on how gripping the book was for me. Was I willing to put it down? Did I stay up too late? Is all I wanted to do was keep going, neglecting food and water?

S.K. Ballinger | 5 comments If character-driven books are your type of reading, try one of these. All books are available on Audible, paperback, and Kindle. What some readers have said:

"S.K. Ballinger has created a whole new world focused around the lore of Lycans. Reading this I was amazed at the attention to thought the author has put into this."

"Nothing like Twilight, or Interview of a Vampire Movie, just true grit, in your face action! I have never been as involved in a novel like this before as I hung onto every page like it was my last breath!"

"My favorite part about actually reading the books is truly feeling the author’s passion for his story if that makes sense. He wants you to love these characters and see them the way he does and does so wonderfully with complete details. Ride the emotional roller coaster through the story and find out why some paths are just meant to be crossed. Two thumbs up for this book! Great job S.K Ballinger!"

Chuck Ervin | 1 comments Hello to you all. I'm Chuck Ervin and I've been a voracious reader most of my life. After I retired, I began to write novels based on my international travels, especially to the Middle East. The Nahbi series doesn't fit neatly into any one genré, but all of the books are terrorist thrillers that are fully described on my website at chuckervin.com. Since this is a Goodreads Reviewers' Group, I would be happy to provide a modest number of free download links for either the eBook or Audible versions in hopes of getting a few reviews from other folks who love to read good books. I've just finished reading Colleen Hoover's "It Ends With Us" and "It Starts With Us." Even this old engineer who descended into corporate management considers them two of the best novels I've read in a long time. Well done, Colleen!

Marco Van | 1 comments Hello everyone, I am a Dutch former head basketball coach writing in English. I absolutely love literature and have published my first novel "In Search of Achilles" this month. I hope some of you are interested in reading and reviewing it. Here is a synopsis:
Summer 1990. The Berlin Wall has fallen. In Europe, Communism has called for the priest to say the last rites. Outside in the streets and on the Plazas the energy is bubbling over from the blind euphoria and the intoxication of victory. Capitalism has come out of the systems war as the ultimate winner. Society is about to spiral upward toward more prosperity and freedom for all. The free market provides the lone left blueprint for a life of purpose.

But does it…? As the sun of plenty shines brighter the shadows grow darker. And while his professors teach post-modernist dogmas, Johan van Geesteren, a young aristocrat on the threshold of society is searching for meaning. Where have all the virtues gone? What has happened to dignity and restraint? Where are the good people? The speed and dominance with which ‘the New Religion’ is encroaching on the public space makes him feel threatened. Instinctively he withdraws. But can he reach out to his friends? Is there still space for Old World-values?

When his friends embark on a dangerous roller coaster, Johan is forced into their stream of destruction, and he needs all the discipline from his upbringing to remain standing. Will he be able to hold on to his ideals? Is there any truth left out there? Or is the enlightenment project of the Occident, like a modern-day Rome, about to burn to ashes?

Sounds boring? please be kind enough to pass this request on to someone who might like this kind of novel ( you know, a time-piece, literary, historical, philosophical etc. )

I would love to read what anyone thinks of it:

My name is Webilor Ediale and I'm new to Goodreads.

I'm a new children's book author and would love to connect with other authors and readers.

My book TINEY TINY TURNER I FEEL DIFFERENT' which can be found here: https://mybook.to/TineyTinyTurner is about a mixed-race boy who is born Tiny (therefore disabled) and different from his peers.
It is a book which focuses on diversity and inclusion of children with special needs and is written to help our kids develop their self-confidence and self-esteem by teaching them to embrace their uniqueness, be it curly or afro hair, white, black, slim, short etc. It focuses on the truth that we are first all people who hurt, cry etc and eventually, all want to be loved for who we are.

John Elcik | 1 comments I hope to have some fun making my introduction. Buckle up as I, John Elcik, take you on a whirlwind tour of my multifaceted life. Strap in; it will be a quirky, enlightening, and possibly hilarious ride!

The Three Amigos of My Literary World

1. Dr. John Elcik, The Pragmatic Professor: Picture a retired marketing guru turned tech-savvy entrepreneur, a modern-day Merlin weaving spells of digital wizardry. I’m the guy who helps the underdog bark louder in the digital world. My books? They're like compasses for life's journeys—navigating kids through the maze of gaming and sports or exploring the wild terrains of cartooning, gun collecting, and political activism. A little bit of everything, because why not?

2. Sean O'Cleary, The Fantastical Funnyman: Enter the realm of Sean O'Cleary, where humor and fantasy collide like Guinness and a good Irish stew. Born where leprechauns outnumber people, my tales are spun from the very fabric of Irish folklore. Think leprechaun sock heists and potato heroes! It's not just storytelling; it's an Irish jig of words, danced barefoot (because, magic!). Sean's your man if you're up for a laugh and a pint of whimsy.

3. Dr. Jack Ivy, The Cool Professor: Lastly, meet Dr. Jack Ivy, the gender studies guru who's as easygoing as your favorite coffee shop barista. Forget dry, academic lectures; my approach is more like a chat over a cuppa Joe, with a dash of sci-fi zest. I make gender studies not just palatable but downright enjoyable, and always with a twist of humor. It's like exploring new worlds while unraveling the complexities of our own.

A Bit More About Me: The Man Behind the Pen Names

• Hobbies? I'm a mystery and sci-fi aficionado, ready to dive into the next enigma or intergalactic adventure.
• Advocacy? I'm a staunch believer in education and animal welfare. I'm that guy rallying for change in a classroom or a shelter.
• Philosophy? Benjamin Franklin once said, "Involve me, and I learn." That's my mantra, both in life and writing.

So, whether you're a small business owner, a lover of humorous fantasy, or a curious mind exploring gender studies, there's a story I've written just for you. Join me on this eclectic literary journey, where learning, laughter, and life lessons intertwine unexpectedly. Welcome to my world!

Hi,

I hope you’ll consider reviewing my latest novel, and winner of the Literary Titan Golden Book Award, “Yuri & the Pig” (87,000 words [282 pages] published by Wild Wolf Publishing on September 1, 2023), a work of fiction based on the current war in Ukraine. However, the countries involved are fictitious, too.

Some excerpts from editorial reviews:
“C W Lovatt's storytelling is masterful…” ~ Readers’ Favorite
“Lovatt's novel is a literary gem …” ~ A Look Inside
“A genuinely thought-provoking novel, it beckons readers to reflect on the intricate dance of life, growth, and self-discovery.” ~ Literary Titan

The following is the blurb:

“From the best-selling author of the Charlie Smithers adventures.

A farmer and his pig set off on an extraordinary quest across war-torn Eastern Europe.

Entangled in a savage war, the country of Xoraina is fighting for its very existence; but to Yuri, a simple peasant from a remote mountain village, it seems all but certain that the invading Zlaimperians must ultimately prevail. Not that it is of any consequence to him, of course. In Yuri’s view, every form of government is equally bad, so it makes very little difference who holds the reins of power. Indeed, throughout time, the only things that have ever really mattered are that the soil be tilled, the cows milked, and the pigs shipped to market, all in a timely fashion.

But when an exorbitant new tax threatens that philosophy, he sets off with his pig across the war-ravaged land to the Capital in order to fight the injustice. In the process, their journey becomes a road to a terrible enlightenment, causing Yuri to question his deeply seated beliefs. But only when he and his pig find themselves placed squarely in destiny’s path is there any hope of those questions finding answers.”

If interested, please contact me at clovatt@xplornet.ca and I’ll arrange for you to receive an e-copy in the format you prefer.

I may be interested in the romance one, depending on the summary. I don't do any kind of religious slanted texts at all, so I'll have to pass on the christian fiction short story. I have about 3-4 books that I am currently reading for review on my list so it may take a few weeks to get to yours if I choose to read it. Let me know which book it is and I'll take a look at the summary and get back to you.

Here is the summary:
Faith's journey takes an unexpected turn when heartbreak in New York propels her to a mysterious small town in Arizona. The place feels oddly familiar and people seem to know her, which sparks a quest to unearth her forgotten path.

Over time, Faith stumbles upon letters that hold the key to her past, leading her to a handsome mystery man. But, as truths emerge, can Faith summon the strength to embrace them? Torn between a deep loss and an irresistible love, Faith must find courage to fight for what her heart desires. Will she seize her chance at happiness, or will it slip through her fingers forever?

Meanwhile, Michael confronts the shadows of his traumatic childhood, returning to his hometown after a troubling call. There, he learns about Faith and finds himself drawn to her. Their paths intertwine, yet a major loss forces Michael to relocate, become a firefighter and search for his lost love. Will he ever find her again?

Unbridled Reader (byoakum) | 1 comments Hi, I'm a new writer, working on edits of my first novel. It's a story of redemption and the way that God pursues each of us. It does not fit the Christian fiction genre completely - there are some rather rough incidents that may preclude anyone looking for an easy read. My aim for believers to nod their head and say, "yes, that is how God works," and for non believers to nod their head and ask "is that how God works?"

I've also been exploring the short story format and have made it a goal to submit to at least three literary and online magazines monthly. So far, no bites, but it's early days. Hoping at the very least I may get some criticism (constructive, that is) to improve my writing.

I have a BA in English, have attended online writing classes and belong to a writing group that meets monthly. Most importantly, I read avidly. All genres, all the time. Because I believe by steeping myself in words and observing how those words form sentences, noting the sentences morph into characters and plot points - that this is where my brain begins to truly understand what it takes to write a story.

Matthew Franks | 3 comments Hi, everyone.

I'm new to the group but have been writing for as long as I can remember. I'd like to offer my latest book for review to anyone that's interested. It's a sci-fi thriller called Alternate Killer. Here's a quick blurb:

Sam Floyd leads a normal life until Special Detective Erica Sayles unexpectedly appears one day and asks for his help to catch a killer. But not just any killer. In an alternate universe, Erica’s been pursuing Thomas Weir, Sam’s homicidal other self.

Despite Sam’s reservations, Erica convinces him to accompany her to a different version of Earth. Sam soon finds himself in a technologically advanced society where high-ranking police officers can change their appearance at will and the president holds daily televised dance parties.

Channeling a unique emotional and psychic connection to Thomas, Sam assists Erica in tracking him. But stopping Thomas doesn’t prove easy. He takes Erica and Sam down an ambitiously twisted trail of murder that ultimately puts both of their worlds in jeopardy.

If you're interested, feel free to email me at matthew.franks@yahoo.com or reply to this post. I'll gladly send you a copy.

Happy Reading!

Henry Hines Hello!

My name is Henry, and I am an author, a teacher, and a dungeon master. Some days I struggle to know which is most important.

I recently published my first book, the God of Make Believe, an epic fantasy murder mystery.

After the funeral for his best friend, Finley finds himself transported to a strange and unfinished world where statues move and ghosts see inside your head. But even this world has murders.

Given a sign that the recent spate of murders in the magical city of Oshroar is connected to his friend's death back on Earth, Finley sets forth to crack the case! His only partner in the case is a magical, ghostly flower that can detect when people tell the truth, which is a real problem for a liar like Finley.

As the hapless teenage detective works to solve the case, he starts to discover the secret his friend Huck hid at the heart of this world, the secret that might have killed him.

My name is Medhaa, and I've recently released my children's picture book The Legend of Tooth Hollow.

It's a creative concept about the tooth fairy and the importance of keeping your teeth clean!

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Here's a little summary below:
The valley of Tooth Hollow is a peaceful place, hidden between rivers of bubblegum toothpaste and clouds of white floss that keep it safe from any cavity monsters that might threaten its pearly-white residents. But without the careful, consistent attention of the fluoride task force, the guardian tooth fairies, and the plaque patrol, those monsters might sneak in after a sugar storm and terrorize all of Tooth Hollow’s innocent teeth! Through this fun and illuminating story, child readers will learn about all the ways to keep teeth healthy, and be introduced to Tooth Hollow’s most important guardian: themselves!

I'm currently looking for reviewers to post Goodreads reviews on my book and am happy to send out ARC's via email. If you or your little ones would be interested, feel free to email me at medhaabanaji@gmail.com

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you :)

Lux Lucerne | 5 comments Hiya! I'm Lux Lucerne, a small indie author. I'm writing a fantasy adventure slice of life series called "Cafe Luna Seasons of Adventure." I currently have two full novels and a short side story published.

The slice of life elements focus on romance, food, and pets. For the romance aspect, I wanted to write about a couple being in a relationship, rather than just the typical process of falling in love. My books explore them trying to communicate and understand each other, moments of tender love and compassion, supporting each other through hardship, and overall accepting one another for who they are.

Food is something that can carry a lot of memories of the past with it, reminding us of simpler, happier times. It's also something that brings people together in the present. Dining together is a mundane yet profound act. Through doing so, we can share memories of the past with each other, helping us to understand one another and form bonds, even elevating the food itself. Food also gives us the strength to face tomorrow, paving the way for future generations, our ways of life passed down---our spirits kept alive in memory.

Then pets... they're our fluffy friends filled with big personality! They can be very simple, yet there is much we can learn about life from them.

I'm currently looking for reviewers, so if you're interested please consider signing up to my mailing list! You'll be able to receive all my books for free.

To alleviate my emotional suffering I began writing a daily diary noting what therapies and activities I invented that were working and not working. I realized I could possibly help other hospice home caregivers of Alzheimer´s like me on this same journey by sharing my writings. I have self published 2 books.

Although I didn´t write for commercial reasons, I learned that reviews could help expose this book more to other amateur home caregivers of loved ones and in this way provide them a shortcut to avoid some of the desperation, frustration and sadness on their tortuous caregiving journey.

Lovely to meet you all on Goodreads. I have just started self-publishing on Amazon with my new horror novel 'Gape'. I'm very new to Goodreads, still finding my feet, but happy to put myself on people's radars.

Wishing everybody a Happy New Year and I hope to connect with some of you soon.

Thanks!

LK (lkbillips) | 1 comments Hi there! I'm Lori aka LK Billips, and I am a fairly new independent author. My debut novel, The Catalyst, came out in 2022, and I am looking forward to releasing the sequel this spring. They are cozy steampunk murder mysteries with a dash of romance.

I am looking forward to making some author friends, and hopefully getting some eyes on my stories.
Thanks,
LK Billips
