Charley Elbow | 8 comments Hi,
I'm Steve and I have helped an author self publish poetry books via KDP and collaborated on one of them as a photographer.
Due to the author's situation they are unable to devote time to screens as they have to devote their energies towards writing.
I am going to place their first book on here to see whether we can get some people to review it and put these reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. We're a bit behind the curve as we didn't really understand how to get reviews but now we have been pointed here and hope that people enjoy the poetry.
Thanks very much!

message 2003: by Laochra (new)

Laochra | 4 comments Hey Guys, I’m Laochra. I’m a prose and poetry writer and I’d love some reviews on my book A Dark Beautiful Life if anyone was interested.

Book info:
For fans of LOVE HER WILD and TO MAKE MONSTERS OUT OF GIRLS, the first collection of poetry by the Irish Poet Laochra.

A Dark Beautiful Life is a poetic work of catharsis that is raw and relatable, yet exhales power and strength to its readers through honesty, humour and the joy ride of life itself. It is a dark collection of soul-wrenching poetry in three parts: dark, beautiful and life. It’s like a walk down a scary, dark path but the way has already been lit with pretty lanterns.

Laochra captures the highs, lows and tortures women endure in a modern world and fights to distil freedom of spirit, the power of the female voice and the warrior within.

This is a book of awareness and empowerment, which packs some punches in the form of harsh realities and hard truths, where people can find themselves and begin to rewrite their own ending.

Laochra will reawaken your inner warrior and will hold your hand through the darkest of times, all while ensuring you learn to stand up and fight, for yourself.

message 2016: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Kraft (kevkraft) Hello,

I am Kevin M. Kraft. Not so much new to this group as I am finally returning to Goodreads. It's nice to be back.

I seek reviewers for three books:

DOBORO THE BOTTLENECKER, the first book in my well-received Doboro the Bottlenecker books series. Synopsis: After surviving an assassination attack, a family man is rehabilitated by a martial arts master in South Korea and returns seven years later as a blind street musician...and an avenging angel with a wit as sharp as the sword that is hidden in his walking stick.

LONG WAY FROM PARADISE, the second book in the Doboro the Bottlenecker books series. Synopsis: Doboro is back and reunited with a friend whose town is being corrupted by a young, rich business tycoon. Doboro must stop it...now, if he can only get past the rich man's security chief, who Doboro likes. A lot.

MOMO: An Inspirational Thriller (Second Edition), winner of the Christian Book Award in the Teen Category (2016) and my most-reviewed for being a novella. Synopsis: A father and son fight to survive a single night against a terrifying monster straight our of the annals of cryptozoology with only their faith, courage and the four walls of their weekend cabin to protect them.

Hit me back, reviewers, if any of these catch your interest, and I'll furnish the book(s) in whatever electronic format you require.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration!

- Kevin

Noe Segal (author_noesegal) | 3 comments Hey everyone, I'm Noe Segal. I write romance novels. I had two books going live during the early half of March. Each book is the first book of its own respective series. I'm currently looking to get reviews on both of them, which is why I joined this group.

My first book is Drifting (Book 1), the first book of my Drifting series, which tells the story of Dr. Nadia Markoff as she finds romance while researching a new metaphysical phenomenon called drifting. The series is paranormal romance with a bit of action due to an enemy organization who is against drifting. https://amzn.com/B08X16ZT3Y

The second book is Cursed To Love (Doctors in Love, Book 1). Doctors in Love is a series of 7 stand-alone books with each main character being part of a group of doctor friends. This series is medical/contemporary romance and the first book revolves around Dr. Riel, someone who doesn't believe in love but ends up attracted to the new tenant of his building. It's a light and quick read with steamy scenes here and there. https://amzn.com/B08XW4187Y

Hope you'll check my books out!

I recently published my first children's book in ten years: Shumi the Dwarf Hamster.

Written in rhyme, Dr. Seuss-style, with watercolor illustrations on each page, Shumi the Dwarf Hamster is a poignant reminder to follow your dreams, no matter what.

Daniel Jeudy (danieljeudy) | 3 comments Hi all,

I'm Daniel Jeudy, a former salesman, singer, and shameless wanderer who spent my younger days living in the moment.

My first novel, Sons of Brutality, is a crime thriller for adult audiences who embrace horror and gore. Set in modern-day Los Angeles, the story is driven forward by an interweaving plot that takes the standard police procedural to much darker places.

Sons of Brutality draws heavily on situations I faced in smoke-filled spaces around the world in the 1990s and 2000s, the underworld culture I experienced while on tour in America, and a random vacation when I traveled alone to Moscow in 1998.

I am seeking pre-release reviews from readers interested in the following genres - dark fiction - psychological thriller - horror - crime.

My website is https://danieljeudy.com.au/.
(Under construction, but still functional.)

I will have 20 (free) print copies of the book available for reviewers very shortly. If you would like to know more - please get in touch.

Robert Hookey | 2 comments Hello, everyone

My name is Robert Hookey, but you can call me The Hook; everyone else does. Well, except my wife and daughter; they call me Skippy. Yeah, I know...

I'm a blogger/author who hails from Niagara Falls, Ontario. I used to be a bellman (or may still be, my profession is in limbo for now) and I recently took a leap of faith while in lockdown and released my first novel, all 283 pages of it, Into The Dark: Book One of the Infinite Crossover Crisis, on Amazon.

(Can you tell I'm a nerd?)

I've self-published so now I'm self-promoting as well. Covid-19 has attacked more than just our physical well-being - it's gone after our perceptions of who we thought we were. I'm sure there are a lot of us who have had to take stock of their lives and maybe make some changes.

At any rate, here's the synopsis of Into The Dark for your approval/enjoyment:

Are you afraid of The Dark?
You should be.

They are all around you, even in the daylight. Directing. Scheming. Manipulating. Whispering in your ear. You’d see them if you only dared to really look at the shadows, at the corners and angles where the light can’t reach.

The world you’ve been living in, one where monsters don’t go bump in the night is a lie, one created to keep the sheep content while the wolves feast.

An imbalance of unimaginable proportions has swept the world, causing the concept of good vs. evil to exist only in comic books and movies. The Balance between The Light, The Grey, and The Dark has been swept away in a river of blood.

But you can go back to your cable TV, your streaming, your Insta Tikking or whatever the hell it’s called. My team and I have your back. We’re not the heroes you’d ask for, but we’re the only ones you’re going to get. God help you.

(Actually, scratch that, She’s long gone.)

Okay, fine, so there’s a good chance humanity is doomed...

***************

As for my book's genre... there are elements of Sci-fi mixed with Horror mixed with Superhero Fiction, all shaken, not stirred. I wrote this book to keep myself from crumbling under the weight of Covid depression and the anxiety of losing too many people (like my mother to bone cancer and best friend to suicide) in the last few years. In the next two installments I'm going to expand the story to include public domain literary heroes and villains like Dracula, Professor James Moriarty, the Black Terror, original Blue Beetle Dan Garret and many more.

I know it's not always easy in these challenging times, but have a great day, everyone!

Robert “The Hook” Hookey

My themes are not for everyone, but they center around cuckquean humiliation, and modern (not reverse) harems, in an imagined, but detailed world: Queanston. Karin Westbrook (karinwestbrook) | 1 comments Hello, fellow book champions! I have been a reader all my life, and that love of books, how they feel in my hand, how they smell, drew me to the teaching profession. As a high school English teacher, it is my goal to get kids to read and my mantra is if you say you don't like to read, that you just haven't found the right book yet. And that is my goal, to press as many books into kids' hands as possible, and that means for me, to read as many books as I can. Which of course is my dream, to be able to sit and read all day. Excited to be a part of this group, and to read and review as many books as I can.

James Fox | 16 comments Hi All,

Thank you for allowing me to join your group! I'm a new author, just published my first book - and I have to say I'm super addicted to the whole process. My background is in filmmaking, so I feel like I've been telling stories my entire life. The recent jump from Directing/Producing/Screenwriting to being an Author has been a fun, albeit challenging one.

After doing several adaptations of other authors novels for the big/small screen, I decided I'd give it a go myself!

I'd love to work with reviewers, book clubs, groups, bookstagramers and the like! I'm just excited to share my book! Let me know if you're interested in checking it out!

Sandra Montanino (sandramontanino) | 7 comments Hello. My name is Sandra Montanino. I would love to have my book reviewed. It is called "THE WEIGHT OF SALT." It is a historical romance that boarders heavily on historical fiction. It's a story inspired by my grandmother's life and told to me many times by my Sicilian grandmother

In the world of 1906, Ybor City, Florida, there is an illusion about life and how it works, and then there’s the truth and fifteen-year-old Angelina Pirrello begins a treacherous course to learn the difference.

Bright, ambitious, and determined to carve out her own destiny, Angelina discovers that women have no right to vote, the Mafia has her Italian community in a stranglehold of fear, and when she finds love, her strict, Sicilian father arranges her marriage to a man she dislikes.

As life continues to unravel, Angelina makes a daring move to take destiny into her own hands, but it comes with devastating consequences and far more shattering than she realizes.

I hope you will consider reading it.

Megan Credit (megcredit) | 1 comments Hi,

I'm new to the group and would love to exchange reviews on just about any social media platform/amazon/goodreads for books (preferably paper/hard copies but also ebooks)! I'm a quick reader (1-2 books per week) and I'm currently in a New Adult Fantasy Romance/Spicy theme in my reading (SJMaas, Armentrout, Bardugo-Grishaverse of recent reads) and would love to find new books to share with my local and online book clubs! I'm totally willing to branch out to other genres as well. I'm a sucker for series as I hate book hangovers and I like to follow characters for as long as possible. I read both on my kindle and paper or hardcovers.

Looking forward to finding some great new stories!
