Thanks for the welcome. I added you as a friend. Yes, I "specialize" in reading and reviewing picturebooks, but all children's books are of interest to me. Best wishes on the work you do in writing children's books.

Jack Montgomery | 1 comments Hi, my name is Jack Montgomery and for the last 17 years I've worked as a travel writer specialising in Slow Travel, especially around Europe.

Last year I published Camel Spit & Cork Trees: A Year of Slow Travel Through Portugal. Although I've written travel guidebooks before, this was a completely different and far more personal experience.
I've also finished writing a novel about a Machiavellian cat, it's is now in the editing stages, and just started a coming-of-age story set on a small Scottish island.

When it comes to reading books by others, I don't have a favourite genre. Basically I'll read anything which intrigues me (one of the books I really enjoyed reading recently was Lanny by Max Porter).

Anyway, this is just my first, tentative steps into the Goodreads community. Once I get a hang of finding my way around I'll be hoping to find members to review Camel Spit & Cork Trees. But for now, this is simply an introduction. I'm looking forward to getting to know like-minded people.

Incidentally, I don't know if this is etiquette or not, but if anyone is interested in connecting on social media platforms, you can find me on facebook, Instagram, and Twitter here:

Michael Greco (michaelgreco) | 48 comments Hi everyone. I have 7 novels out now but I've still got that fever: the prescription? MORE REVIEWS! If you're on the hunt for Amazon reviews like me (and I know no better method), let's give each other honest reviews of our work. I write in the comic fantasy genre and my stuff sells in the 3-4 dollar range. amazon.com/author/mgreco55
For some odd reason, I get swarmed by folks offering $50 reviews—no thank you, just a simple 3-buck swap with fellow authors—I buy yours, you buy mine for verifiable purchases. (Admin, I hope this is okay.) Email me at: michaelgreco@me.com

Adam Gropman (adamgropman) | 1 comments Hi! I'm Adam Gropman, originally from Boston but living in California for well over 25 years, most of it in Los Angeles. I've been doing comedy writing & performing and some acting but also a lot of creative journalism (what I did in Boston and SF before I moved here).

I self-published my first book, a selected collection of short pieces about people, places, and interesting phenomena around greater Los Angeles, originally published in the LA Weekly, called "An Imaginary Real Place". It's a fun nonfiction read, I truly believe & have been told.

I'd like to connect with some good folks and also offer it for reading & review to anyone who is curious about the sociological, lifestyle, culture, business, arts and political aspects of contemporary Los Angeles. Thanks!

Pamashelle | 6 comments Hello Everyone,

I released my debut novel, Pandemic Pandemonium a month ago and I'm looking to build my review team. If anyone would like a free limited copy of the book (PDF) in exchange for an honest review on Goodreads and Amazon, please let me know by sending me a message on Goodreads.

Pandemic Pandemonium is a fast-paced SciFi thriller packed with action and adventure. The story begins with the current state of the world but breaks off to 14 years into the future. A mild dystopian, if you will.

Three things that mean a lot to me personally are key aspects in the book - strong female characters, exploring diverse cultures and the blessing of family.

I also had major travel plans for 2020 but none materialized due to the pandemic. This inspired me to travel virtually through the pages of my novel and take my readers along for the ride.

Book description:
A science prodigy. A genetically enhanced virus. A global pandemic. A family’s desperate fight.

Recently appointed as Director of the Institute of Virology, Mia’s elation is short-lived when news of a mysterious virus spreading indiscriminately across the globe breaks. All signs point to a virus that potentially mutated in the institute’s laboratory. She is desperate for answers, but soon discovers the pandemic is only part of a sinister equation.

Danger looms at every turn while the truth remains in the shadows. When danger hits close to home, Mia will need more than her brains to survive. She must fight like never before to reunite her family and protect the world from a brutal death.

Unbeknownst to her, the key to saving the world lies in the hands of a child—one time and distance prevent her from reaching.

Will her desperate fight to save the world succeed, or will the malicious evildoers continue their reign of terror and hold the world at ransom indefinitely?

Kara (ladykarasgmailcom) | 24 comments Hi to everyone, I'm Kara, I've been a Goodreads member for years but just lately started joining some of the great groups here. I wanted to join this one because it's about reviews. I'm big into helping Author's and reviewing books for them, but the one thing I warm them about is I will only leave a honest review.
I love reading all types of fantasy, some sci fi, and horror. The books I'm not very fond of are romance novels, and self help books.
If new author's or experienced author's are looking for a reviewer you can contact me here on Goodreads.
I hope I fit in.
Thank you Mark for arranging the link for me to join.

Elie N. Azar (elienazar) | 15 comments My name is Elie Azar, the N. in my profile stands for my father's name, Najib.

I am 27 years old, born and raised in Lebanon, I currently work as a financial reporter and I am a licensed (non - active) CPA from the state board of accountancy of the state of New Hampshire.

To me, writing is a safe space where I can freely express myself and let my emotions be.

A place where I forget my own gender, age and race, a place where my heart is the only boss.

Throughout the course of my life, writing has been my coping mechanism, writing about people and things that happened with me, and how I wish things could have been, gave me this sense of power and freedom.

Every time I write, I feel like I broke the chains of my chaotic silence.

I am looking forward to interacting with everyone and having their honest reviews.

Stay safe!

Anna Lorenzi (annina19) | 1 comments Hi to everybody!

I’m Anna Lorenzi, but my close friends and family call me “Annina,” which means “little Anna” in Italian, maybe because I’m not so tall, but it’s also a term of endearment. That's why my author name is Anna "Annina" Lorenzi. I was born in Milan on a rainy Monday morning, the 26th of October, 1981. I grew up in this town in which I still live with my two splendid beagles, and have never stopped “indulging” my passions: writing, music, photography, nature, travel (especially in my beloved USA!), and motorbikes and cars, in particular the “old” ones.

In my own little way, I have really done a little bit of everything, both professionally and personally, trying to cultivate all my passions with enthusiasm. Passions such as two- and four-wheeled vehicles, music, photography, traveling (the States!), my adored dogs, nature, my bonsai… and, obviously, writing.

I have been filling sheets and sheets with black ink all my life. I think that I began at around 6 years of age (yes, before I even knew how to do it!), and, even with highs and lows, I’ve never stopped. Armed with paper, pens, empathy and imagination, I’ve always loved to describe what I see outside and inside of myself.

I’m not a “wet behind the ears” writer. I have been writing privately “forever,” and I’ve participated in various literary competitions, I’ve worked for some Italian magazines and blogs, I’ve published tales, fables, writings, articles, interviews… and, since February 2019, I’ve been managing my own personal blog annina19.com dedicated to my creative writing in which I gather my new and old works, accompanied by images and photographs.

Currently, other than taking care of a company that I founded in Texas quite a few years ago, I am concentrating on the promotion of my books, website, Facebook page and other linked social media accounts, mainly in Italy, the USA, Canada and England.

For me, writing is not just a passion. It’s my first way to communicate. It’s something that is a part of my being, something I couldn’t ever do without, a need, sometimes.

I think that among the fundamental characteristics of a writer (and not only a writer!) must always be honesty, originality, humility… and the spontaneity of those who live every day with a mind that wants to think, and a heart that wants to beat, all with courage and a touch of madness.

So, yes, I’m Anna “Annina” Lorenzi, and I’m a writer, author, and more. 🙂

Literary Work & Publications:

On 19 May 2020, Incontrando Laura - Un romanzo liberamente e in parte ispirato alla vita di... was released, accompanied by its English edition Meeting Laura – A novel loosely and partially inspired by the life of... professionally translated by Starleen K. Meyer. They are independent self-publications, both available in paperback and Kindle eBook versions, in all Amazon stores. The two respective audio books are expected for 2021.

In August 2020, I began working on the sequel of Meeting Laura and on a completely different side project, which I decided to prioritize.

On 8 February, 2021 The Microscope. Una raccolta di scatti immortalati con la penna and of its English edition, The Microscope. A collection of snapshots immortalized with a pen (#TheMicroscope – Some Call It Poetry), were released.

The release of the sequel is currently still to be defined.

Thanks for reading!

Anna "Annina" Lorenzi

These days I am an editor, proofreader and blog tour organiser and I also work for Bloodhound Books as a commissioning advisor. That's right, I get to help decide if a book is published or not and I cannot tell you what an honour that is!

I'm currently reading You, Me & The Sea by Elizabeth Haynes and loving every single word of it.

Ginevra Mancinelli (ginevramancinelli) Hello everyone,

I'm a new fantasy author from Italy. Last month I published my debut novel, Fatherland, the first installment of an adult fantasy series. I am currently working on the second book.

I tend to read very slowly compared to others because when I'm not binge-writing, I watch shows and cook a lot. I do keep some books on the night table for those late-night reads though.

Hope to meet plenty of new friends on Goodreads! This platform is still very new to me.

My favorite genres to read include YA, Romance, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mystery and Thrillers. I also enjoy reading stories that are set in a post-Apocalyptical world (not dystopia).

I post reviews on my Goodreads account and on my Instagram account (svnshine.reads) and eventually, I plan to start a blog to post my longer book reviews

message 1982: by Domenick (new)

Domenick Venezia (domenickvenezia) | 3 comments Greetings! I’m Domenick Venezia, an Action-Adventure/Thriller writer with 5 ebook novels on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

I have led a variegated life, with myriad different jobs and acquired skills. I won’t repeat here what you can find on my Goodreads and website profiles, but everything I have done, I have done passionately and immersively. From early childhood to today, I have been a reader, writer, and a voracious learner.

I write daily and did not pause long enough to publish until I had completed my first four novels. All my works have attained some level of competition award. My first three were all 2017 Clive Cussler Collector’s Society Adventure Writer’s Competition Top 10 Semifinalists, with my second, Minidoka Legacy, going on as a Top 3 Finalist. At the end of the competition, I was invited to be a continuing judge for the AWC. It is a responsibility I greatly enjoy, and the 2021 competition is open for entries.

The Adventure Writers Competition

My first four books comprise an ongoing series centered around an ex-Air Force pilot, his immediate family and the family business—a small General Aviation airport twenty miles east of Seattle, Washington. I am an active private pilot, and aviation is a part of my work, but by no means limited to it. Adventures range across Washington State, Oregon, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Suriname, and in the next novel Guatemala.

My most recent book, Do No Harm, is a medical thriller, in which a father uses an unapproved, experimental treatment to cure his daughter. The “medical miracle” draws intense media attention, and things spiral wildly out of control. I worked decades in the biotechnology industry, so I brought that experience and more to this work. Do No Harm is currently on the 2020 Chanticleer Global Thriller Award Short List, and hopefully it will further advance.

I write because I have to, not for riches or acclaim. This is why it took me so long to attack the steep self-publishing learning curve—it took too much time from my writing! However, self-publishing got easier with each work, and now I have a good handle on the process. My characters become real to me, and one of my greatest joys is when, despite all the planning and plotting, a character suddenly does something unexpected. It’s weird and magical. My fingers typed it, but I swear I didn’t think of it.

Currently in process are books five and six in my Action-Adventure series, a science fiction first contact story, and a paranormal thriller.

I have too many words and not enough time.

Thank you for your time,

Domenick Venezia

Caring for Your Aging Parent is about what I learned form moving in to help care for my aging mother and what I learned about the stresses, weirdness and joys of being a parent to your parent in a way. And I was transformed by the experience. It's funny, although I didn't always see the humor in it at the time!. My website: www.ellenrittberg.com Am also seeking reviewers. Cheers!

Ali | 1 comments Hi, my names Ali!

I've had to create a new account, but I've been using Goodreads for years. I'm 22 and have been reading for as long as I can remember but paused due to studies. I'm now trying to get back into reading again and am a huge fan of YA book specifically in the fantasy genre. I do however love some NA books specifically in the Mafia trope. I'm quite active on Goodreads as well as other platforms.

I'm quite excited to see some new/indie authors and read what they have written.

Thanks,
Ali

Việt H. Nguyễn (moki83) | 4 comments Hello everyone, I'm Viet H. Nguyen, author, translator, often time coming in package with Nghịch Tử. This is our debut novel:

Eyes (Half-Alive, #1) by Nghịch Tử .

We're also up for giving honest review. Beware that it's honest to the point of blunt. More on that on a more suitable thread later, though.
