Audrey Ng (audreyng0629) | 1 comments Hi everyone my name is Audrey and I'm a book lover as well as a poet. Reading and writing basically takes up the entirety of my daily routine. I'm not new to Goodreads but I'm certainly new to this group! Please feel free to say hi!

Martin Owton | 116 comments Hi Vicky & Audrey.
I have a couple of books I would like to offer you for review. There's a secondary world adventure fantasy Exile and a contemporary fantasy set in southern England Shadows of Faerie. I can send the ebooks if these sound interesting. Contact me by PM.

message 1553: by Matilda (new)

Matilda (matildareyes) | 7 comments Hi, everyone!

I'm an Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance writer. My urban fantasy series, the Vespers Chronicles, needs a bit of a boost to get more visibility both on Amazon and here. The trilogy can be found on sale on Kindle and free with Kindle Unlimited. They can also be found on Audible.

Please let me know if you'd be interested in review one or more of the books.

Thank you!

The Vespers Chronicles follows Jasper Andrews as she descends into an underworld filled with assassins obsessed with the cosmic balance, forgotten gods, and a crush on the wrong guy that she just can't shake.

Order of Vespers (Book One): When an explosion kills Jasper's entire family, she's pinned for the murders. With a little bad luck and some supernatural powers, she escapes from jail and runs to disappear into the anonymity of New York City. Her luck runs short when she is kidnapped by a cult of supernatural assassins who believe she is the key to defeating evil and maintaining the cosmic balance.

The Circle (Book Two): Jasper is nowhere to be found. Her friends don't want to believe she's dead, but the likelihood of her survival lessens with every passing hour. Jordan refuses to accept that Jasper may not come back to them, and him in particular. When they find a way to return her to them, they are faced with the horrible choice: not partake in forbidden magic or risk bringing something with Jasper from whatever realm she existed.

The Black Knights (Book Three); Since Jasper Andrews took up her mantle as an assassin of the Order of Vespers, she’s seen just about everything. She came into supernatural abilities that belonged to her deceased siblings, chatted with deities, and trained with an immortal mentor. As if life wasn’t mind-boggling enough, she’s been put in charge of ending a cult hell-bent on unleashing chaos on humanity. Jasper finds herself relying on the one person who has the power to hurt her but can’t seem to fight the magnetic pull between them. Now, they must stage a rescue mission and defeat their greatest mortal enemy while avoiding heartbreak.

No big deal, she’s saved the world before…sort of. This should be a piece of cake.

Marcus Seitz Hello,

I am an avid reader since childhood but relatively new to Goodreads and still attempting to learn how everything works.

I recently completed my first fiction novel which is about two scientists, one from the U.S. and one from China, who are attempting to develop a vaccine to combat a global vaccine. "Coronavirus: Race for the Cure."

Hope everyone is staying healthy and as sane as possible during these challenging times. Thank you for having me in the group.

H. (toastandtea2) I don't really share my name online, but I'm Han. I'm addicted to books, strong tea, cross stitch and tacos.

I really enjoy supporting indie writers. But do not stalk me or I will eat you. :P

PM me about your book if it's/it has :
- gay ladies in a fantasy/urban fantasy setting, Big plus if one of them is a werewolf or something.
- southern gothic. Love those like creepy backwoods town kind of story with cults or murder or whatever.
- cryptids - if your story includes Bigfoot or Mothman, count me in!
- aliens, ghosts, werewolves, demons, shapeshifters
- urban fantasy in general I'm there (but no abusive heroes)
- middle grade with horror/urban fantasy/paranormal themes.
- horror/folk horror
- witches
- paranormal romance/paranormal erotic romance, especially F/F
- disabled characters, especially female.
- an agendered character. Need more representation.
- occult detective

No:
- F/F contemporary romance
- any contemporary romance or chick lit unless maybe it's set in a bookshop.
- vampires, but it depends. the UF genre seems over saturated with vamps and as much as I love True Blood, I like more creative creatures?
- Anything super cutesy.
- Rapey mcGee heroes.
- contemporary YA
- cat death
- abuse of disabled

Don't contact me if your book is way way outside my genre perimeters.

Felice Cohen | 3 comments Hello! My name is Felice. I am an avid reader and the author of two non-fiction books (one about my grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, and one about how living in 90 square feet made my life larger). I have a new memoir coming out soon called "No Whining" and am looking for honest reviews. This coming-of-age book is a little like "The Graduate", but a lesbian version. Thank you to Goodreads and all the amazing readers for your past reviews, encouragement and continued support. And thank you for having this group!

Alex Pearl (alexpearl) | 3 comments Hi Felice,
Will happily review one of yours if you were prepared to reciprocate. My latest offering is a thriller - 'The Chair Man'. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
Let us know if you're up for it.
Best,
Alex

message 1561: by Felice (new)

Felice Cohen | 3 comments Hi Alex. Thanks for responding. It was the first time I've ever asked for reviews and realize I wasn't as specific as I should have been. In speaking with other authors, they said it's best to get reviews from people who are established reviewers in your same genre, so I thank you for the offer, but need to decline, as my review for your book would probably not be as effective since that's not my wheelhouse. One other tip I was given and am happy to pass to you, that it was suggested to look at the top books in your genre on Amazon and find those reviewers and ask them for reviews. Wishing you the best and again, thank you.
Felice

Jacob Powles | 4 comments Hi guys,

I'm Jake, I've been on Goodreads for just over a year and somehow only now discovering that these brilliant groups exist!

I finished studying economics and finance at University last year so any book business or economics usually catches my eye! But I'm also big into history, politics and any books that I can learn something useful or interesting from!

I'm aiming to read 20 books this year as I only managed 17 last year.

Looking forward to getting involved in the group!

Jimmie Devereaux (jimmiedevereaux) Hi Everybody, My name is Jimmie Devereaux. I am just a Reviewer and I'm not sure if I am the right place but I love to read any books that I checked out in my local library. My Cousin and I are the main hosts of our local book club (We have no name but We are expanding it a website platform.). We just read any book we want and meet together and give out critiques that are 100% Honest and Valid (from 5 stars to 0 stars). We individually post our review on Goodreads. Our Rating services are different because It depends on the book had satisfied us or not. If the Book isn't worked for us, then We can send a letter to the author to point out a few mistakes and just summarized that They can do better (We are not Bashing anybody of their work/aesthetics or hating them in general, We are being real and that's it.). So I am hoping that I can feel welcomed here and You can follow me here and see my reviews of the books that I read. Also, One of our members is taking a sabbatical leave because She was a little paranoid of She is in an identity crisis just because Her name is been taken from our favorite T.V. Show "RPDR". (You know what Show I'm talking about and I am talking to you... SNAP OUT OF IT Alice Smozzie!). Thank you so much.

Charisse Moritz | 115 comments Hi Hanna! If you are interested in a mature YA romance, I'd be happy to provide a free PDF, epub, Mobi or Kindle edition of my book, Shakespeare Burning. You can reach me here or by email at ugarps@yahoo.com. I hope to hear from you! I've included a brief blurb:

He’s the boy who wants to disappear.

One mistake & seventeen-year-old Shake LeCasse lost everything. Now there’s no going back and no way to move forward. The once-popular hockey captain is living in the basement of a grandmother he barely knows, ditching school, avoiding friends & working hard on self-destruction.

She’s the girl nobody sees.

Cleo Lee survives however she can. Lie, cheat, steal, & saving Mr. Popular isn’t part of the plan. Telling him the truth about the night that destroyed his life is downright dangerous. She needs to keep quiet, be smart and let the guy she’s been half in love with since middle school throw away a future she’d do anything to have. Too bad her heat can’t resist, no matter the cost.

Christopher | 1 comments Hi everyone,

My name is Chris and I'm looking to read some good contemporary fiction (long or short) and review it. Perhaps you have something for me?

I'm particularly interested in fiction with strong, complex characters who are going through some kind of struggle or mess in their lives and trying to make the best of it. But really any kind of story will do as long as its well-written and has heart.

If you are unsure if you have something I'd like, feel free to check some of my own short stories at shadeofthemorningsun.com - but let these types of stories be a guideline, not a straitjacket, okay?

Great - I look forward to hear from you. Please email me at chris AT shadeofthemorningsun DOT com. If you post something for me in this big thread I'm afraid I'll miss it!

Best,
Chris

Melissa | 1 comments Hello All! My name is Mel. I love to read and am reading more now during the isolation. I am a huge fan of thrillers, horrors, suspense, even more romantic novels if the mood catches me. I find myself in a lull right now, unable to figure out what I feel like reading, so I am open to suggestions! I love Riley Sager, Christian Galacar, Kate Morton, And Jennifer McMahon to name a few (I have many more but my list will go on and on). I have attempted to write a book and got completely lost in my own head so, I put that aside however! I am happy to report that I still have it on a memory stick and hopefully, one day I can pick it up again. I love being lost in a book and the movie it creates in your mind and being excited for the next moment I get to pick it up. I also like to keep it old fashion and read actual books, no ebooks for this gal! Anyhow, thank you for reading my rambling :). Happy reading all!

Like many here I appreciate a good review. My books are all .99 and or available on KUL.

I am an avid Reader, always looking for new books to read. I always BUY the books I review at .99 or get them on KUL. Please don't contact me unless your book is published.

I rarely review unless I honestly like the book - thus usually 4 or 5 stars.

Opal Edgar | 2 comments Hello,

I'm Opal. I just published a YA fantasy book on Amazon KU called "Tosho is Dead" and would love to find some honest reviewers.

It's so frustrating to be excited about something and have no one to share it with!

My entourage isn't exactly bookish or into fiction. But me, I've always been writing, usually fantasy and SF, I have a few short stories published and wrote a number of full length screenplays.

"Tosho is Dead" is fast paced and fun with lovable characters and many twists and turns.
The plot?
"What if after being murdered you don’t land in heaven? What if the other dead want to eat you? What if you don’t even have a soul? What if someone in the afterlife is plotting against you? Tosho will have to figure it out quickly or disappear into oblivion along with all the amazing friends he's made, and they certainly don’t deserve that."

You can read an extract on amazon, here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086JBDBG9

And please contact me by MP if you would like a copy for reviewing :D
