Hello, Keith.
I self-published a sci-fi book in 2017 called The Immortal Trinity: Inheritance that needs readers and reviewers. You can easily find it here on Goodreads. In case you're interested, drop me a message.

I'm new to this group but have been on Goodreads for a while. I like to read and review almost everything I read. I am also an author of fantasy, horror, and science fiction novels and short stories. My most recent release is The Invocation out in April, which I like to describe as Stranger Things meets The Exorcist.

Hi Carl. I'm a UK-based writer with a couple of novels that I'd love to get more reviews for. I have an adventure fantasy novel Exile that you may enjoy. Exile was shortlisted for "Best Newcomer" in the 2017 British Fantasy Society awards. I also have a very new contemporary fantasy set in Southampton and the New Forest Shadows of Faerie. I can send ebook files of either if you are interested, just drop me a PM.

Martin, I'd love to, yes; I've added a recent request to my list also - It's A Long Way Down - which I'll be starting in roughly a fortnight's time (I'm having to begin my Kindle Unlimited trial for that one, it'll last ~30 days, this is because of some US/Canada/UK region-visibility thing) as I'm currently reading through an ARC-copy of something from NetGalley: Falling From the Floating World. By all means, pass me over your work to review and I'll begin it as soon as possible. If you have a hard-copy (Paperback/Hardback) that'd be even nicer ;) :)

I have a couple of fantasy novels that I can offer copies of to reviewers. There is a non-epic adventure fantasy that was shortlisted by the British Fantasy Society for Best Newcomer 2017 Exile and a very new UK set contemporary fantasy Shadows of Faerie. Drop me a PM if either of these sound interesting to you.

I'm Crina-Ludmila Cristea, an indie author currently with three books out: two of fiction and one of non-fiction. My most recent work is Whispers and other Strange Stories which is, yes, you've guessed right, a collection of peculiar, dark stories. Here's a link if you'd like to check it out. It's available as an ebook and as a print in standard and large format.

If you have any questions about the stories or the overall book, please let me know. I'm looking forward to connect with more readers. :)

Marietta Blackburn (mariettablackburn) | 2 comments Hi there! I'm Marietta.
I've been writing nearly all my life, but I finished my first 'real novel' recently, a very rough draft of a historical fiction novel about the Crusades, and while I do plan to return to it, ever since then I have been interested in working on some enjoyable, lighter projects.

I've recently decided to start writing historical romance for Kindle, and as my first book is set to go live on the 20th, I wanted to start looking for some people who would be interested in receiving an ARC copy and enjoy leaving reviews. I didn't know groups like this existed on Goodreads but it's awesome that they do!

I'm also a reader (okay, not as much as I would like to be with how busy I am, but I know some readers on here who juggle life and reading very admirably) who is interested in helping out my fellow authors when I can.

Anyway, the only author credit to my name right now is my newest book 'The Duke's Reluctant Lady'. PM me if you're interested though I will be making a review request post in the appropriate place as well.

Good luck to my fellow writers and happy writing!

D.W. Goates Hi Everyone!

I’m a recently published author. My debut novel just came out last month and I’m trying to spread the word.

It’s a work of Literary Fiction, Historical, with heavy Gothic overtones entitled "A Witch's Burden".

Here’s the synopsis:

The summer of 1830 draws to a close in a world no less modern than today’s is less ancient.
Fräulein Elke Schreiber has languished since university as a mere teaching assistant in spite of her modern education and impeccable qualifications. Desperate for a classroom of her own, she secures a job offer by correspondence, spending almost all of her meager savings to fund a fortnight of travel south from her native Bremen to the insular village of Waldheim in the Kingdom of Bavaria. Once there, however, she discovers that the true horrors of her life have only just begun. Danger lurks, and that her unambiguously written job offer was instantly reneged upon becomes the least of her worries when a new friend disappears under mysterious circumstances.
Stuck among the small-minded and superstitious villagers until she can earn enough money to leave, Elke isn’t fool enough to believe their rumors about the reclusive Margrave living in the castle above the valley—everyone says he’s a witch—but neither does she have any desire to meet him.
Yet she does.
A Witch’s Burden is a tale of unbridled romanticism told in classic Gothic style. Blurring the lines of genre, the story is foremost a literary work—its historical setting being secondary to its central timeless theme.

It’s currently available for sale worldwide in both hardcover and eBook formats. Amazon and some other sites have substantial samples available via “look inside”.

Reviews would be nice, but readers even better. As I am not exclusive to Amazon, I am prevented from the usual giveaway campaigns; however, I am participating in the original recipe "giveaway campaign": I am in the library! 11 of them in fact and counting… If you are interested in my book please see if your local library has a copy available, and, if not, interlibrary loan is definitely an option. Books don't like sitting alone on the shelf for long.

Of course, purchasing is also an option, and there are a variety of deals available online for both the eBook and Hardcover. As of this writing, I think Walmart.com has the lowest price for the hardcover, with Books-A-Million's eBook weighing-in as top (read: cheap) dog in that category.

Thank you!

EDIT: There's a link to my website via my Goodreads author page: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

James Earl | 3 comments After working for fifty years in the restaurant business, I retired. My wife and I live in a small seaside community on the California coast.

Now, I write historical fiction, and my first novel was published on May 28, 2019. It is titled High in the Bavarian Alps.

Although I never gave much thought to becoming an author, I have always loved historical fiction. So, I started writing one day. Forty-four chapters later, my novel emerged as a hardcover book of 630 pages.

Of course, I struggled at first. Then, I recalled the 60s and 70s when young adults, including me, were involved with sex, marijuana, and rock ‘n’ roll. My most memorable experiences happened in Bavaria, hanging out, skiing, playing bar games and other sports with my new friends. We were all responsible people who worked hard and played hard. It was a fun and wild adventure!”

Having spent five years in Europe, I am familiar with most locations described in the book. I like history and did extensive research to support the events which occur in the story. However, it appears I do not mind breaking a few rules and coloring outside the lines, literally and figuratively.

High in the Bavarian Alps is a fascinating tale woven around Lucas Gary, the protagonist. Most events in the book involve extreme lifestyles during the early 1970s and take place in an American military playground—the beautiful, fairy-tale setting of the Bavarian Alps. Lucas meets Interesting characters who come from around the world to work for the Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC). Historic hotels which survived World War II became AFRC facilities and served as vacation resorts for military personnel and their families.

If you like historical fiction, I think you will love this novel. It is a delightful blend of history, friendship, sports, romance, adventure, and terror.

Ask for High in the Bavarian Alps at local retailers and libraries, or order it in the U.S. at https://www.bitsoftimepublishing.com/

Favourite writers of mine are, by far, Anne Rice and J.R.R. Tolkien. Infact, I even have a lifesize sculpture of the Vampire Lestat in my home. I think I just love the way that they mould their worlds, and the dedication to the lore.

Happy to be here and share the experience! I look forward to connecting with other authors and readers alike!

You have impeccable taste, Michele. My dream home, which is actually more a castle, would be filled with sculptures such as these, and paintings, artifacts...really whatever I can get my hands on. Most of the figures would have to be fictional characters too, because they're just more fun. Also they would come alive at night, because why not? It's fun to pretend.

Nice talking to you!
