My name is Charles Roberts and I am the author of the historical fiction "Eden's Gates" a "novel both beautiful and devastating, brutal and uplifting; an honest look at the Civil War-era south that equally presents the horrors of slavery".

I am looking for someone available to make a honest review of my book. Please write me in private if you are interested.

I also invite you to enter Eden's Gates Giveaway here: https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

Jeff Severcool (jeff_severcool) | 3 comments Hey Everyone!

I'm new here (obviously), my name's Jeff Severcool and I recently published my debut young adult novel The Secret Witch. Just looking to share my work with the world so I listed it for free on all major online retailers, because teens are mostly poor, lol. I also have a goodreads give-away coming up starting on October 18th. It took me a very long time to write this story, and I would just simply love to hear what others think about it! Thank you all so much :)

David Laing | 33 comments Sure. The Sea Witch is my father's novel (a best seller), written in 1933 and extensively revised and edited by me in 2015. It's the story of a real clipper ship of the mid-1800s (same name) from the viewpoints of her owner, her builder, her captain, his brother her first mate, and his other brother the ship's carpenter and how she shaped their various lives for better or for worse during her short and spectacular career. A love triangle between the carpenter and the captain's wife adds tension between the somewhat supercilious captain and his younger brother, but here, I chose to make the carpenter a more robust and honorable character whose great loyalty to his brother keeps the potential romance with the wife at a fever pitch but bravely countered through a dramatic resolution. It was, for me, a great joy and privilege to revitalize what has always been one of my very favorite nautical adventure tales.

Kat | 5 comments Hi all! I just joined this group and I'm excited to explore what it has to offer! I have three children's books out, and my debut novel released yesterday! It's historical fiction that takes place during the American Civil War and my two main characters are spies for the Union, despite the fact that they are both married to Confederate officers. The eBook is free today - the 20th - on Amazon for anyone who wants to check it out. I also write mini-biographies of historical American women who received little to no recognition for their extraordinary deeds.

Daniel Kemp (goodreadscomdanielkemp) | 15 comments Hello! My debut novel in 2012, The Desolate Garden, was optioned to become a $30 million film within two months of its release. After five years the distribution of the film became one hurdle too many and my dream crashed. Two months ago I signed a new contract with a publishing house who are now in the process of reissuing all my work. This is a message on their website: All published Creativia books are free to reviewers... http://www.creativia.org/for-reviewer... ..... I'm hoping you might take a look at one of mine. Thank you for reading this.

Whitney (xobooktrovert) Hi everyone!

I just happened to stumble across this group, and I am so very happy I did. One of my favorite things about GoodReads is being able to connect with other booklovers and read some awesome reviews.

With that being said, I am an avid reader. I mostly read romance and young adult. However, I will read just about anything but I just gravitate toward those genres. I am always balancing three to four books at a time - usually one is an audiobook. I am very active on GoodReads, and I review every book I read. Typically, I review 2 books a week.

I can't wait to explore this group, and make my own review thread. :)

I'm new to the group and just wanted to say hi. I'm a new author. I recently released my first children's book. It can be found on Amazon and Create Space. My sister does all the illustrations and my husband helps edit and gets the books published so it's a family affair. I look forward to learning more and seeing what this group has to offer.

Gabriel Kron | 2 comments Good evening Goodreads,
I have just launched my debut techno thriller The Locke Cipher. It is on pre-order on Amazon with a release date in December but the paperbook is available now ----- or would be if Amazon hadn't suppressed it which is funny as the premise of my novel is technology suppression. So it's the book they tried to ban!
I'm new here, so I'm off to have a look around, this place is huge!

Roger Cave | 12 comments Hi everyone

I'm new to the group, but I have been writing thrillers for a number of years. I also love reading, usually action adventure, thrillers, or police procedures. So I tend to read Robert Crais, Clive Cussler, Lee Child and Michael Connelly.

Sonny thrillers tend to be a mix of all of the above. If you have the time, then take a look https://www.amazon.com/Roger-Cave/e/B...

If anyone has any questions, then please don't hesitate to ask.

Kat | 5 comments Hi all!
This month I released my third children's book - Monsters in the Night - and my debut historical fiction novel - In a Time Never Known. The ebooks for Monsters and my previous two children's books are free today in honor of Halloween, and my novel's ebook will be free Nov 7-9.

I have sadly not had the time to do much reading this year, but I'm hoping to remedy that next year! My interests lie in women's history, historical fiction, YA and some fantasy. I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone!

E.Y. Laster | 2 comments Hi Everyone!

I'm a newly self-published author! I love history, action, and adventure. I LIVE for strong, female leads and unexpected heroes.

My debut novel is Of Captivity & Kings, the first in this historical fiction trilogy. Inspired by the Kingdom of Kush, it captures a myriad of characters involved in the ancient trade of luxury goods, the growing desert climate, religious persecution, and a rising slave trade in 4th Century Africa. Here, kings and queens, princes and princesses, slave traders and gladiators, high priests and slaves, scribes and warriors, caravan robbers, and hermits collide under the thread that links them all - Captivity and Kings.

Please feel free to contact me with questions. I look forward to connecting with the group!

Below is my blurb. You can also find more information:

Blurb:

Magic. Romance. And a fight to the death.

The Secret Circle meets Sookie Stackhouse in this pulse-pounding, fast-paced YA fantasy read.

Torn away from her high school graduation, Sierra Reeves discovers that everything she thought she knew is a lie.

In a flash, she’s no longer a normal girl preparing for college, but a Fluidus—a rare supernatural with telekinetic powers. Her new abilities attract the attention of both the Ardere regency and the Culpatus, a group that wants to overthrow the supernatural government. Fearful for Sierra’s future, her grandmother decides to leave their home state Vermont and hide out in Savannah, Georgia.

In Savannah, Sierra forms an alliance with the overprotective and handsome Ardere marshal Gavin McLoughlin. With his help, she slowly accepts her new powers and that she’s a part of the supernatural community.

Just when Sierra begins to settle into her new life, her world is rocked again. In addition to the Culpatus discovering her location, a serial killer is on the loose in Savannah.

Fighting to control her developing power, and facing danger on multiple fronts, Sierra will have to use all her resources to stay alive.

Touzellier Lionel | 2 comments Hello Everybody !
- My name is Lionel Touzellier... ( It seems that I hear voices in my head who tells : - Welcome Lionel ! Since when you didn't drink alcohol ? ...)
Sorry for this joke, but I wanted to do :)

So, I am a french guy ( I assume it is not commonplace here) but I have an explanation to it : I am a novel writer. I published 5 books and I am specialized in mystery novels and romance.

Why I come here? (You would ask) ... because I wrote a book thriller/investigation based on JFK assassination, intitled "THE INVISIBLE INVESTIGATION" The link where you can now find it is : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077P5PF5K

It was released in french langage and was rated #1 during 3 months in France. ( In a few words : I found new and original ideas about this fascinating mystery, and I wrote it in a fictional thriller book. I garantee that ALL my datas are true and taken from official documents, and it took longtimes of searches to write this book )

My ultimate goal was to publish it in USA, so I gave it to translate ( it took time and was very expensive, but now it is done. This is it !)

So today, I contact you to know if you would be interested to have a look on it.

Below are some datas about the book :

“A breathtaking thriller, full of unexpected twists that lead to a very surprising finale.”

“Original. Fascinating. Amazing. Whatever you believe about the Kennedy assassination, this book will captivate you.”

Introductory note:

The assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy is considered one of the greatest mysteries of the past century: a defining myth of our time.

Although this is a work of fiction, the point of view presented in this book is based on reality. It brings a new clarity to the mystery surrounding the death of JFK.

And what if the truth were finally within our reach?

Summary:

Joshua Mandley finds himself entrusted with the delicate mission of carrying out a new investigation into the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, using the most modern and innovative investigative techniques. Working with Mei Wang, an expert on the JFK affair, the investigators set off in search of the truth. But there appear to be people with unknown intentions who want tohinder their work . . .

From the skyscrapers of New York to the rural landscapes near Dallas, the two investigators are thrown into a remarkable hunt for clues - and risk their own lives in the process.

Will they succeed, 54 years after the fact, in solving this fascinating mystery that still haunts America?

Wish you an excellent day or evening or night :) ... and all the best for everything !

Thank you for reading this message :)

I am new to the group and delighted to have found it. I am a Goodreads author (since 2013) who writes adventure books featuring a confident, savvy young female protagonist who is making her way in, and bringing change to, a male-dominated world (someone has to!). My Sanyel series currently consists of three novels, with a fourth on the way. If you enjoy action, along with elements of mystery and heroic fantasy, I hope you give these books a look. I will be looking for reviews, in particular for the first novel of the series, Sanyel, and I look forward to engaging with the group in that regard.

Reviews from anyone who's into the genre would obviously be terrific.
I'm looking forwards to chatting to you all.
