Dee DenBleyker | 15 comments Sleight of Hand is Mr. Henwick's first book in the Bite Back series and it's here that we are introduced to Amber Farrell. While on a military mission Amber's unit was attacked by a vampire. All were killed but somehow Amber managed to survive the bite and slowly transforms to what we learn is an immortal or Athanate. Mr. Henwick skillfully takes us through a lot of adventure, a bit or romance and fantasy with a very strong female lead character.

I originally picked this book up as a free offering on Amazon and it gripped me from the first word right up until his last entry. I have read all of the Bite Back series and am looking forward to what I hope will be many more. I am a huge fan of Mr. Henwick's work and you will be too.

Jason | 2 comments A wonderful book and the characters really grab you. I found the Vampires and world supernatural system very different and interesting. The blending of the different peoples is believable and realistic. I can not say how much I love this series please give them a try and I believe you will not be disappointed. At the end of every book I want more. Thanks Mark for the wonderful work and keep it coming.

Dee DenBleyker | 15 comments I am pleased that Mr. Henwick is getting the notice that I believe he so richly deserves for the many hours of enjoyment that he brings to his readers.

Sharon Sayegh (wiggiemomsi) | 1 comments The Bite Back Series is one of the most intriguing paranormal series I've read, and I read literally dozens of books a month.

Starring a kick-ass female heroine with a military background who was bitten by a vampire - or "Athanate" as they're called in the series - the action is nonstop and the worldbuilding complex and fascinating. I very much recommend Mr. Henwick's Sleight of Hand book and the entire Bite Back Series!

Grazzit | 21 comments Love this series!!! been a big fan since i read the first, hope the new book is out soon!!

Choko (chokog) So, this is my first read and from what I am getting it is about Amber, a PI, human who is going through the process of becoming a vampire, but it is not voluntary and she is fighting it. I am liking all the side characters so far and am intrigued by who is what :-) Cool!

Choko (chokog) Oooo, I am soooo pissed at her sister right now!!! How dare she assume so much!!! And she is so selfish! The partners asked why she had never talked about her sister in 10 years??? She didn't even mention having a sister, that is how much she thinks about her!!! And at the ball she asked her not to "ruin it for her", supposedly proceeding to act like a hore and embracing her!!! What the...??? She was there to do a job, not to sit in the corner, cower and be a " good girl" in order to gain approval from a sister who doesn't give her the time of day... The sister should go .... herself.... Can you tell this pissed me off:-)

Very fun read :-)

Dee DenBleyker | 15 comments You are going to love this series and yes the sister is horrible.

Choko (chokog) @ dee denbleyker, I am really enjoying it! Almost done - I am at 92%... I kind of feel sorry for the lady who was her client - I hope they work things out...

Choko (chokog) OK, this was a bunch of fun! Not extraordinary, not a literary triumph, but a very pleasant way to pass a day reading:):):) Thanks to the group for choosing this book:)

Choko (chokog) So, I enjoyed this book quite a lot and started the next one. It is very addictive! It is not terribly original, actually I see many things I have seen in other UF series, but I really like this author's take on the paranormal world. Recommend it to all who read the first book!
