Similar single names in different languages

I noticed that under the author profile 'Platon' were a lot of Spanish editions, which should have 'Platón' as secondary author name.

Apparently 'Plato' and 'Platon' are different enough that they can be added without having to resort to the workaround, but 'Platón' reverted back to 'Platon'. Therefore I added Platónn, but when I had finished and wanted to change the author profile to 'Platón' I was asked whether I wanted to keep 'Platon' or 'Platón'. I clicked on the latter and now *all* the books that had 'Platon' have 'Platón' instead. (That's 12 times his name in 3 sentences, sorry about that.)

Is it not possible to have both?

The system doesn't allow two names with the only difference being an accented character. And there's no good way to disambiguate single-name authors.

OK, I'll change the profile back to 'Platon' then.
