Emmalie sat on a plush chair, sipping a cup of hot apple cider and staring at the grass. People strayed in small clumps are her, but no one gave her clear box a second glass. Snapping her fingers, Emmy conjured a book, glancing at the title and sighing. This box certainly was obsessed with making her suffer, wasn't it? It was that blasted Kylee Night Stars again, but she simply opened it up and read the first sentence for the forty-seventh time.
Bianca twirled a lose baby hair around her finger absently as she strolled out into the courtyard eager for socializing, she pouted slightly as she saw how some of the groups were so tight-knitted and showed clearly they did not want others to join in. Bianca shifted her vision to the left side of the court and spotted a girl reading a book and felt secure that she would welcome her company. Bianca swiftly made her way to her and smiled slightly before speaking," Hello," she said in a sweet voice,"what are you reading there?" She tilted her head.
Emmalie looked up, raising one eyebrow. No one had come to her invisible box for... well, she wasn't sure how long. But that was no matter. She snapped her fingers again and allowed purple mist to flow the the walls of the box, showing what she was trapped in. The girl had said something before, but she hadn't been able to hear through the box. She popped open a window. "What was that?" Emmy asked, setting the book on a table. "You can come in my box, don't worry — I can't leave, but you can." She quickly strode to the door near the girl, snapping her fingers to open it. She didn't need them burning again.
(( just btw, your girl can also snap her fingers to get stuff if she comes in the box, so we could have emmy show her how ))
Bianca watched the purple mist abruptly stopped and noticed that she was trapped in an invisible box, how curious she thought thinking about how this wish as well went incredibly wrong. " I was wondering what book you were reading." She said softly as she searched for a door."Is there a door for your box ?" she questioned running her fingers along the box.
Emmalie's eyes brightened. Not many people took interest in her books; every time someone did, she felt a good day coming on. Though her bright feelings did dim a bit when she realized what book she was reading... "Just a silly old thing," she called from the window. "It's called Kylee Night Stars, an old romantic novel. This box does like to torture me with bad books." At the girl's question, she pointed to the open door and said, "Just to your left." She smiled at her. "I'm Emmalie, by the way. Most people call me Emmy, though."
Bianca smiled slightly as she saw the girl's eyes brighten up,she loved making people happy,"I could bring you some books from the orphanage if you're truly bored of the books the box supplies you with." She suggest as she moved slightly to the left and felt for an opening. Once feeling it she let out a triumphant horrah as she stepped in," Bianca pleasure to meet you Emmy." She smiled genuinely. "Uhh could you conjure up another chair for me ?" She asked slightly flushed she hated asking for stuff.
Emmy practically jumped with glee when Bianca entered the box. She grinned, agreeing to Bianca's invitation of books. She snapped her fingers and brought up another chair for her guest, then a table. "What kind of tea would you like?" she asked, conjuring two cups.
Bianca laughed gently as she saw how enthusiastic Emmy was about her presence ,she manured out of the way as a nice wooden chair and table popped out of thin air and gazed in aww."That's so cool you can do this." She said as she took her seat and watched a cute porcelain cup slowly floating down onto the table, before it reached the table she let it sink slowly into her palm and smiled gently amazed. "Oh um peach tea would be nice preferably cold with ice oo and sweetened please." She said her mind still focused on the ability to conjuring items at your will.
Emmy did as Bianca requested, and, smiling, conjured herself a similar ice tea, only lemon clementine flavored. "It's really not that hard," she said, taking a sip. "You could probably do it too, if you tried — just think about what you want and do what feels natural with your hands. Some people clap, some snap, some twirl their hands, whatever feels normal." Emmy demonstrated by clicking her fingers together and summoning another book. She grunted at the title again. Not Kylee Night Stars (thank God), but almost as bad — the sequel, Lucas Day Clouds. She honestly had no idea what the author had been thinking when she'd named the books.
Bianca waited patiently for the pitcher to fill up her cup and began to sip enjoying the sweetness of the cold tea.Bianca watched Emmy demonstrate then nodded and tried to think of one of her quirks that came naturally to her. Bianca finally decided with a quick tap to the wrist and thought of slice of pizza warmed of course with pineapple & ham as toppings. Bianca watched as the pizza popped out of the air."Oops forgot about the plate." She said sheepishly.
But Emmy just clapped and one appeared, laying itself in Bianca's lap. "There you go!" she said, smiling. "It takes some time, but once you get used to it, things can be really fun." Emmalie grinned wickedly. "Just watch!" And suddenly, the room changed; the floor became carpet, the walls covered themselves in blankets and furs, their chairs became giant pillows, and a fortune teller orb glowed in front of them. Then, Emmy snapped her fingers again and the room became a giant purple disco ball explosion, startling even Emmy with it's purple-ness. But she finally clapped and made the box reappear as a simple beach-style patio, complete with windows and doors and curtains. She sipped her tea, suddenly thirsty.
Bianca smiled as the plate laded on her lap just before her pizza had reached the table.Taking a bite she watched as Emmy made the room change to whatever environment she wanted.'Wow that was really cool." She said as she shoved some more pizza into her mouth."What do you do all day?' She asked.
Emmy shrugged at her question and summoned her own slice of pizza. She swallowed. "I guess I pretty much read, watch the people around me, and... eat? Wow, I don't really do much," she said, smiling. Inside, she felt bad, knowing that she was trapped inside this box, isolated from everyone else.
"Well," she said, finishing her slice, "what about you? Have you wished anything, yet?"
Morgan pulled a blanket out of the basket and spread it on the ground, sitting down and waiting for Aria to catch up. Halfway there, she'd started running, and now sat in the middle of the courtyard, glaring at anyone who dared look her in the eye.
"Can't you wait for a girl with short legs?" Aria whined as soon as she reached Morgan's picnic blanket, though it didn't sound that whiny and more pathetic with the amount of wheezing noises she was producing. "Alright, alright, we can get on with the feast," she muttered, before collapsing onto the picnic blanket. "Not everyone is super athletic, you know!"
(( gotta go, i'll be back ))Morgan gave her a smile that said: I know. That was on purpose. Then she dug out the mac-n-cheese and and popped some olives in her mouth, handing Aria and bowl, a fork and spoon, and a plate of salad. She pulled out another for herself and then two glasses of water, both covered. "It's amazing these stayed together," she said, laughing.
(( alright, no problem! i might be asleep when you get back though ))
Aria squinted. "Is there something you're not telling me?" she asked, but decided to drop the subject in favour of stuffing herself silly. "Mmm, the salad's delicious, as always," she mumbled with a mouth full of food. "Honestly, it always tastes so fresh. I don't know how they do it," she said before grabbing a glass to take a sip. "How are you balancing things while you run?" she laughed, before reaching for a forkful of mac-n-cheese.
"Ummm..." Morgan said, smiling suspiciously. "I really don't know how I balance them." She shrugged and ate her mac-n-cheese viciously, savoring the lightness and the NOODLES. Oh, God, the noodles... "This is really good," she said, through a mouthful.
"Liar liar, pants on fire, Morgan," Aria sing-songed. "Just kidding. If I find out you're hiding something from me I will find out, I swear," she said mock seriously. "And of course it's really good, how would I have survived if the kitchen made bad food?" she joked. "My delicate palate would suffer."
