Have thoroughly been enjoying reading Kate Morton's "House at Riverton." I have been impressed by how Morton has been able to convey the changes in British society at the turn of the century. Have thought how the "upper crust" of British society were significantly affected by the change in social classes - reduction in staff and the clout they once enjoyed in politics diminished - while the lower classes gained (whether it be a minimal or a significant gain) in their strength.
