Hi Louise. There are subplots involving the male MC's personal life & office politics at the police station.

I must admit to feeling a little disappointed also David, until I realised it is her first book, and really for a first book it is a stellar effort. I first rated it 3 stars but then upgraded it to 3 1/2. I think Helen shows great promise as an author and I will not be avoiding her work in the future.
