Emma Jaye I'm always surprised how few authors actually invest in a KU account, I find it invaluable when doing reviews for fellow authors. It means I can give verified reviews without it costing me anything.
I write honest reviews on goodreads, amazon.com, .uk and occasionally .ca and write erotic romance from contemporary and paranormal to scifi, although I read most genres.

Emma Jaye I'm not sure we'd be a good fit Fatima, from looking at the books you've previously rated I don't think you'd appreciate my books.

Emma Jaye A kindle unlimited account.
You pay a subscription and can download any book enrolled in KDP select for no additional cost. You can 'borrow' up to twn books at a time.
The author is paid per pages read of a downloaded book by amazon.

Emma Jaye if your books are published by amazon, I think its important to at least know about this option.

Every book that is exclusive to amazon, (the ones that as an author you can do countdown promotions and free days) are automatically included.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/kindle/ku/s...

The fee in the UK is 7.99 a month, $9.99 in the US, for that you can read hundreds of books, if you wanted.

Teri Dluznieski (horsewisevt) | 15 comments I had KU for about a year, because I thought it was a great way to offer and receive reviews. I was surprised at how few authors subscribed to KU themselves, even when their books were enrolled: and when they were seeking reviews and offering trades.

also, since amazon counts page-reads now. One would think that it is in authors interests to utilise this, rather than the free-days. When authors rely on free days and countdown deals-- readers become used to getting it free all the time... they just have to wait long enough.

if more authors were utilising KU for their own purposes, and expecting others to utilise KU rather than FREE books... all authors would be benefiting.

I would consider re-subscribing, if I thought it would be beneficial. btw- I also use this to know if a reviewer has actually read the book, as I can check page counts. If I don't see an increase in page counts, approximately when they say they have read the book...that is a good sign that this person had not done an honest and genuine read-review-trade-whatever:)

Emma Jaye That's a good point Teri.

Emma Jaye That info was sent out to all authors about ten days ago.The payout is only being lowered for books borrowed through KU in India. I don't know about you, but India isn't a huge market, so some borrows there, which weren't previously available, are better than nothing.
Besides, this is from a competitor of amazon, they aren't goning to be singing its praises are they?

Segilola Salami (segilolasalami) | 17 comments Hi folks,

I am so glad to see this post. I couldn't not believe that all the review exchanges I had previously been seeing were not to be downloaded via the KU programme. It adds credibility if it is a verified purchase.

If you have a KU subscription and you want to do a review exchange, then please do get in touch as I do have a KU subscription
