I just read this book a little while ago, so I won't be reading it again. But I do want to talk about it once people have started to read it! It's had to find anyone to spaz with here at home.

I am about 60 pages in. I kind of feel like there is a lot of mystery dealing with The Others because you still do not have a good description about them. I am not complaining about it I actually kind of like it. I am kind of surprised that I am already enjoying this book already.

Okay so I'm over 200 pages in. I am enjoying the book....

But....

I am going to go nuts with all the different points of view. I mean I probably wouldn't be going nuts if it told me hey you are reading from this person's point of view but it doesn't do that.

So right now I've read from Cassie's point of view, Ben Parish's point of view, the Silencer's point of view (does this guy get a name at some point?), back to Cassie's point of view, and now her little brother Sam's point of view. I mean if I had a warning like the name of the person at the beginning of each part I would be great. But going from reading a girl's point of view to reading from a guys point of view it kind of confuses me for just a few paragraphs.

I loved the fact that there was different points of view. It made the book different and let me know what everyone was thinking or seeing at the time. I super loved this book and even though I've read it, I'm itching to buy it soon.

Oh I am loving it don't get me wrong. I would just kind of like it if I knew I was changing to a different character's view point.

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Okay so I finished the book. I like it. I think my only real problem is the changing points of view without it telling me.

I love how she is determined to keep her promise to her little brother.

Sharon | 22 comments I didn't really like it to be honest.... I feel as if nothing big really happened in the beginning and I agree with the switching points of view. I didn't really get the first point of view until two or three pages in and the flash backs were interesting but confusing at times. I didn't know if we were meant to figure out who the silencer or not.... but to me it was kind of obvious from the beginning I don't know if anyone else thinks that though......

I just finished this book and honestly I loved it! I didn't really mind the different points of view. In the beginning I thought I would but as the book went on I began to look forward to it. I liked both Cassie and Ben but I really felt that Ben evolved a lot throughout the book. I also liked that they both had promises that kept them going. I knew who the silencer was pretty early on. I wavered for a bit but I was pretty sure. I really didn't think I would like this book as much as I did. I'm not really that into the alien invasion stuff but I'm happy I read this because it was totally worth it and now I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

I finished the first book and immediately picked up the second. I cannot believe I did not know who the silencer was til like the end when she confronted him. I was like what the heck why didn't I see that.

I went back and forth a little bit thinking that maybe it was Zombie when his POV started up but then I realized who it was. I'm so back logged on books now from the library that I'm going to see if I can copy the audiobooks because I know if I return Winter before I read it and have to get it again the wait list will be forever. So the Infinite Sea is going on my list for probably January. *sigh*

I love this book!!! I wish the movie would have been better!

I liked the movie but I did feel like it lacked a lot of things.

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Oh my gosh, the movie did lack quiet a bit of info in my opinion. I mean I know that it was adapted from the book but still there were bits and pieces that I felt were missing that should have been in the book and the fact that there were things that they moved to fit how they thought it should go. Because Cassie never got on the bus with her brother Sam.

Roxanne | 727 comments Mod
I agree the movie was good, it just could have been better.

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Yes, it really could have been. I think it was better than the movies they have been doing for the Divergent trilogy. The first Divergent movie was great the second one not so much and the third. Well lets face it I haven't even watched that one yet because I am so disappointed in it.

I actually liked the divergent movies more than I liked the books, Andrea. I felt like the books either droned on or rushed where they shouldn't have been rushed. And the movies were decent. Lol.

Roxanne | 727 comments Mod
I haven't see the last movie in the Divergent series or maybe the last two because it's in two parts right like the trend Twilight started?

Actually Roxanne, Harry Potter Book 7 started that trend.

Rumor has it that the last movie in the Divergent series is to go straight to DVD or it is like TV Movie then DVD. I cannot remember. However, it seems like they are on Mars in the newest movie from the look of the trailers rather than on Earth. I don't know. I just had problems with the second movie because it was just nothing like the book. I think I judged that one to hard. But the books the last book I threw out the door. Well out of door of my bedroom because it made me mad.

Yeah but harry Potter deserved two movies to tell threat story properly... now it's a ridiculous trend.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Sadly it is a trend now. Some movies are just too long now. -.-
