Stacey | 66 comments I am loving The Lake House by Kate Morton and listening to The Crossing. Great narration. Next up is Stoner by John Williams.

Sue | 415 comments I'm listening to and absolutely adoring H is for Hawk. In print, I'm very slowly devouring Ian Stansel's short story collection, Everybody's Irish. The stories are impeccably crafted and incredibly weighty. There's a comparison to Jonathan Franzen and Stuart Dybek on the cover. Stuart Dybek, yes, Jonathan Franzen, not so much. I'd go with Andres Dubus, Charles D'Ambrosio, maybe Richard Russo. All of them masters at spotlighting the extraordinary sorrow that can come from the most mundane failures of ordinary people.

Julie M (woolyjooly) | 314 comments I also finished A Life in Stitches: Knitting My Way through Love, Loss, and Laughter this month. Great memoir, especially for knitting addicts like me. I liked her (Rachael Herron's) writing so much, I picked up and began Splinters of Light - very good so far. Oh . . ETA: The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy by Rachel Joyce. EXCELLENT but sad partner story to Harold Fry (the Pilgrimage of).

Do let me know what you think of Green Darkness. I read it long ago and loved it. I'm afraid to re-read after all this time. My daughter just read it and really liked it.

Janet (justjanet) | 791 comments The Heart Goes Last and The Japanese Lover both in audio. Given the theme of last week's BOTNS podcast, The Japanese Lover is a good one for "mature" audiences.
