Your books are about a bunch of different things, which I love ~ of all of them which do you relate to the most?
First off I love all your books. Out of all your books, do you have a favorite character or book that sticks with you the most?
I was just wondering if you are a reader as well as a writer. If you do like to read? What is your favorite genre? Who are your favorite authors?
Hi Cassie!Great question, but a tough one as all my books have something personal in them. I guess I'd have to say my legal affairs books are the ones I relate to the most since I'm a lawyer, although I don't quite remember having such great heroes in my real life practice. But a lot of the courtroom antics are from personal experiences!!!!

Hi Becky!!! I have a few characters that have stuck with me. First being Nix in Off Limits, because of my ties to the Marine Corps (dad retired and I grew up in a Marine community). But for some reason, my favorite "man" has turned out to be Tenn from Shaken, Not Stirred. I love how he was able to turn a very damaged and misdirected woman around with all that sexy confidence. As far as men goes, Tenn just does it for me. Do you have a favorite?Sawyer

I am indeed a reader and my favorite genre is paranormal romance. My go to authors in that category are Gena Showalter (Lords of Underworld series) and Larissa Ione (Demonica series). My favorite book though is To Kill A Mockingbird. My two dogs are named Atticus and Scout!!!Sawyer

How do you continue to be inspired to write? Do you ever struggle to come up with a new story line or characters?
How do you come up with the characters for your book? Are they inspired on real life people or maybe yourself?
Donna wrote: "I am in love with your Cold Fury series - after Hawke, how many do you think you'll write?"Thank you so much Donna! I've got one more after Hawke under contract, and that will be Max (yes, the other goalie gets a book). I'm hoping Random House will want more after that!!!

Lisa wrote: "Do you get story ideas from real life events"Hi Lisa!
For the most part, the general plots of my stories aren't taken from real life events, except the legal case at the heart of Friction. That is loosely based on an actual medical malpractice case I had several years ago. But in each story, there are actual scenes or little events that have happened in my life.

Sharon wrote: "your stories are super sexy. what are some of your upcoming stories?"Thanks Sharon!
I've got a big publishing schedule for 2016. Two more Cold Fury books, a new three book trilogy called The Sugar Bowl series which is going to be more romantic suspense, and then four more Wicked Horse books. I'm also really hoping to launch a romantic comedy series under a new pen name!!!

Nicole wrote: "Are you an avid reader? If so, what kind of books do you enjoy?"I do love to read Nicole but often find myself not having a lot of time. I really love paranormal romance so I try to budget time in for my favorites Gena Showalter and Larissa Ione.

I have a huge idea file that I add to all the time so I feel like I've got enough material to sustain me for quiet a long time!!!!

Brittany wrote: "Does music play a role in your music process? Do you create playlists for each book you write?"Hi Brittany!! I think I might be one of those weird authors that don't find inspiration in music, although every once in a while, I'll hear a song that will inspire a character or a scene. Buckcherry's Crazy Bitch helped me flesh out the character Macy from Legal Affairs Clash, Grind and Yield.

Michelle wrote: "How do you come up with the characters for your book? Are they inspired on real life people or maybe yourself?"Hi Michelle! Great question. I think my books are very character driven. I get an idea in mind of the general personality, and I flesh that out in some detail. Then I sort of let the characters write my books. I do think most of my characters share a lot of the same qualities. My males are sort of alpha and very confident without the arrogance. That's what's personally attractive to me so it's what I write. My female characters are all very much inspired by me I think. I've tried to write heroines that might be a little broken down, shy, lack confidence, but I just haven't been able to succeed. All of my heroines are definitely super confident and independent, which is very much me.

will there be more books to follow?"Yes! I'm planning at least five books in this Legal Affairs series. And Ford will be getting a book!!!! :)

Oh, that's easy. I'd be Hermione Granger, specifically at the time when she went to the dance in The Goblet of Fire. She looked so pretty (in the movie) and happy, full of the possibility of romance for the night. It gave me the major feels.
The Hawke cover is so much different than the rest in the series, why did you choose to do a close up vs the body shot?
Shelby wrote: "Which of your books do you like the most?"My favorite book I've written so far is Shaken, Not Stirred; for some reason the hero, Tenn, just really resonated with me.
H wrote: "Which of your books was the hardest to write and why?"I've never been asked that before; great question. I think one of my most recent, Love: Uncivilized, was difficult to write because it was the first time I've written a follow up book to a stand alone. It's about what happens in the happily ever after (kids, marriage, stress, etc). It wasn't a classic love story so I struggled a bit. But I love how it turned out.
Jade wrote: "The Off Series is one of my fave!! Will there be any more to the series? :-)"There could possibly be more. This is a series that never seems to want to quit!!!! Maybe even a reunion type book to check in on everyone!!!
JABBERWOCKY wrote: "So...which characteristics do you find most important to include in a male love interest?"I don't know if this is the most important to others, but to me personally I love a man with a healthy ego; good confidence and self esteem (without being arrogant). Someone that is direct and takes what he wants. All classic alpha stuff, but I think having good self confidence speaks volumes about a man.
Shannon wrote: "What is your most favorite book ever and why?"Not sure if you want to know my favorite book I've written or read. If read, that's easy... To Kill A Mockingbird. If written, that will often change with my moods!!! But overall, I am fond of my Legal Affairs books because I'm a lawyer and it lets me bring something to the book that I know well and loved doing in my life.
Gina wrote: "The Hawke cover is so much different than the rest in the series, why did you choose to do a close up vs the body shot?"It is soooo different, right? We went different for a number of reasons. First, my editor found that photo and it literally is how I envisioned Hawke. The eyes were so captivating, I knew the cover would get a lot of reaction. We also wanted to try to make them slightly different since there was so much time in between releases (almost six months) and it's sort of starting a new batch of heroes. Same team of course, but the prior four Alex, Garrett, Zack and Ryker are all close. This will start off another group that are close.
Which of your male characters is your favorite? And do you image they look the way they do on the cover?
Kristina wrote: "Which of your male characters is your favorite? And do you image they look the way they do on the cover?"Hey Kristina! Sorry for the late response. I do try to put someone on the cover that matches my "ideal" image of the male character. My favorite I think is Tenn from Shaken, Not Stirred and that cover is exactly how I imagined Tenn!!!!
