403 Forbidden response code/generic id # incorrect

I have a plugin(Ultimate Book Bloggers Plugin v.2) on my WordPress blog (http://fantasyismorefun.com) that grabs book information for posts using isbn information. I tried to use it today and I got this error:

"Error: Goodreads sent us back a 403 Forbidden response code. This means they've blocked your site from accessing Goodreads.com for some reason. :("

Why was my site blocked? How can it be fixed?


It also seems to be extending to other things - I was trying to use my generic id# for another plugin (Goodreads-Jetpack) and I'm told that my id# is invalid.

When I put in a help ticket I was told to post here. Please help. Thank you!

You'll be lucky to get it working again. I've gotten this from the very beginning; I can't use the plugin. Ashley has tried; she's talked to people on here; nothing works. But I hope someone can fix it!

Hi Berls,

We've checked, and your user account and site hasn't been blocked from our system.

Usually the forbidden error is shown when the API developer key you're passing in is missing from the request.

Still doesn't work for me and everything is filled in so I don't know what else to do.

I have the same problem and have about many that do as well. No one seems to be working on this problem.

ust got off the phone with godaddy, they stated that goodreads is probably using a port that is blocked at godaddy for security reasons. The ports that are not blocked are 80 25 and 21. Don't know what port goodreads is using or even where to find out. I'll also add this information to my request to Ashley, the developer for the UBB plugin. I also receive the 403 error when using goodreads to retrieve book info with the isbn.
