I have set the schedule for ten weeks. We will try to read 100 pages a week. From what I have read that is a good schedule. When Jason Segel was preparing for The End Of The Tour he started a book club and they read 100 pages a week. Side note, he said reading the book changed his life.

I wish I could have been in Jason Segel's book club! He seems like he'd be a pretty cool person to read with!

Me too. I guess he didn't tell the people he was preparing for the movie. They met every Sunday.

I got a notebook and pens ready to take notes while I read. I am so excited to read this book.

Interesting group. Infinite Winter will start the last week of January and they read 75 pages a week. This is a good site to check out before we start our adventure into DFW.

I have a really busy week so I started my reading today. There are many footnotes, and I realized I was missing them. Here is a link for the footnotes:

Also, here is a good video that may help explain a few things.

How is everybody liking the book? From what I have read from others it starts to make more sense around page 200. It is supposed to be a post modern book where Canada, Mexico and United States are one and is referred to ONAN-Organization Of North American Nations. Hear that Lilith we are in the same country now!!

I am page 90. So far there have been quite a few references to drugs and suicide. I can see how people thought DFW was writing about himself.

Any ideas how we can have group discussions? I even thought later on into the book, maybe midpoint, we could arrange a google hangout or something to that effect.

Almost forgot YADU-Year Of The Adult Undergarment.

One more thing. Once we get to page 223 in a few weeks make sure you flag that. I guess you reference back to that a bit.

Shannon I'm on page 390. It takes some time to start to come together but when it did I was hooked.

Okay I am on page 152. Now I see how the ETA and Ennet House are connected. I just read about the video conferencing and how the masks evolved. If DFW could see FaceTime now.

Clearly DFW read the Bell Jar. Of course James would put his head on the oven. Page 248.

Page 314. Poor Mario was quite deformed!!! The size of a toddler in 6th grade.

Side note I am trying to keep track of all the drug references.

Diana | 16 comments Whoa. I read to about page hundred. Got back from vacation and haven't had a chance to get back into it. Is it really getting better? I will get back into it by this weekend. I'll try to really dig in.

Okay I’m attempting this book again. I’m about 25% done. I read House Of Leaves earlier this year. I feel that book prepared me. I’m enjoying this book a lot more the second time around. I had to start over since it had been a few years.
