Zoran | 247 comments 1. Translator: Vladimir Dedijer

2. Description in Serbian:

3. If this can be put as cover picture for now, if not we'll look for book to scan: http://i.imgur.com/dDHJVZZ.jpg

I'll await confirmation on the cover picture.

Zoran | 247 comments Ok, now I see translator too. Is that something with my cash memory on comp?
And thanks for description.

What is the source of the cover image?

message 5: by Zoran (new)

Zoran | 247 comments Image was taken from http://www.knjizare-vulkan.rs/rasture....
Then I resized a little and upload.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Looks like a sales site, which we can't use. :-(

Have you seen the list of acceptable sites? https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...
They could probably add some library sites from other European countries, if you know of some.

Zoran | 247 comments Does have to be publisher who published book, or publisher any kind. Site above is bookshop of publisher Vulkan, which is also publishing house in Serbia and they sell books, as own so of the other publisher.
I thaught that is the same, just not to be bookshops which only sell books.

message 8: by Abcdarian (new)

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Ah, good point. I'll leave that for rivka to decide.

Zoran | 247 comments Of course, I really want to know about that. Because, this is not only example.
For instance: site for publisher Otvorena knjiga doesn't work. I don't know even are they publishing or they closed their firm, but their books are selling other firms-publishing houses:
1. http://dereta.rs/31a2fc55-dc7a-4886-8...
2. http://www.knjizare-vulkan.rs/lesinar...

etc, etc. For me, they are publishers too, doesn't matter that they didn't print particular book.

And I would also would like that rivka (as I understood higher level moderator) explain to me which is difference in picture from link no. 2 and link from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Lesinar-Dejvid-...

It needs to be the publisher of that specific edition of that specific book.

They are legally allowed to provide the cover to anyone, and every publisher I am aware of happily allows for redistribution of said cover to sites like Goodreads. Booksellers do not have the right to distribute cover images to other sites.

And while the images may be identical to the naked eye, photos and other images files contain quite a bit of data that can be decoded by someone with a computer and the right programs.

Zoran | 247 comments Then one more question. What about pictures from public libraries which are not in list? There is some libraries in Croatia which have covers for some books. In Serbia I didn't find such example. And what about fun pages about some author, where you can sometimes find covers of some books but they don't sell it?

lethe | 16363 comments Public and national libraries are OK to use. Non-official pages about authors/books aren't.
