The Testing

The Testing

Have you ever seen a book that you thought you would like to read, but was reluctant to read it because of the length? You should really be mad at yourself for not reading the book sooner, because of how good it was. This is how I felt about The Testing. The Testing, by Joelle Charbonneau was about Cia Vale, a girl from one of the poorest colonies left in the world and how she was chosen for a special testing that changed her entire life. It gives a brief description of her life before the testing and how she would have probably never been chosen. When she is chosen, it transitions to her days during the testing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone in high school and someone who loves action packed thrillers. The book was well written and very interesting. Everything was very organized and suspenseful, and it made me never want to put the book down while reading. The story was really made more exciting when she notices that she loves someone and how she has to choose carefully who she trusts. During the testing, there were many obstacles, and the person least expected to be the bad guy turned out to be the antagonist. The book had very cliché moments that I did not really like, but overall it was a great book and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this book to my fellow peers. This book is appropriate for anyone, because it grabs and keeps the reader not wanting to put it down. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this book a 9.9, only because the book should have been a little longer.

Shon I have never read The Testing before, but I should read it soon. By looking at your review it feels like I am looking at a movie trailer for an action packed movie. It seems like you really enjoyed your read. The part that appealed to me is when you said the person she trusted the most was the antagonist the whole time. The quote keep your friends close, but your enemies closer rings a bell in my head. I have never read an action packed book close to this, but this might be my next book on my list
