okay - I started it this morning and finished it just now. I had some time on my hands, so don't think I finished it so quickly because I was transfixed by it. It's a quick read but, for me, required a lot of suspension of disbelief. For the most part, I found it a formulaic YA book, but without the nuance or subtlety of a John Green book. I do appreciate that the main character is biracial without making that the focus of the book. Overall, though, very disappointed. It felt like it was written by a young teenager who doesn't really know about the world.
Finally got from library, read it, and have to say it's a The fault in our stars pretender with the most improbable ending.I felt the author did a decent job with beginning and build up and didn't know how to end it or always new how it ended but couldn't figure out a way to make it realistic. If you haven't read it you haven't missed anything.
