In the Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson, Joel only talks about what he wants and why it is not fair, without metioning any other point of views, makes him a unreliable narrator.

True but I like this book and upset book 2 hasnt came out yet.Sanderson character development in his books r never great the characters r usually predictable in what they do that is why I couldn't finish the mist born series which had one of the best magic systems I have ever read but the characters had no depth. Now in his legion series the character development and story fit perfectly but it doesn't have a magic system so maybe he only had to focus on the character. His strength as a writer is his creativity in his magic systems in his books
