Epic Fantasy ideas for an Asian based Game of Thrones series

I am thinking of writing a fantasy series sort of based on Game of Thrones, by based on I mean, Epic Battles, No good or bad people, lots of POVs, End of the World Plot, Civil Wars, set in Asia though, mainly a fantasy Japan, China, Korea and Mongolia. I would have more magic an mythology in the books then Martin does though. This is not fanfiction but an actual idea. Critics, ideas, thoughts, suggustions? I am open to them.

Have you read any stuff from the Warring States? Nobody was really good there that was a major player.

Or how about the Three Kingdoms, I guess Shu is often considered the good guy side so there is that. But still it's messy.

Like those are the two historical major periods of strife that get dragged up again and again...and again in the fiction in the east.
