They get in a car crash. Mia's mom and dad die on the scene but her and her brother teddy don't. They get taken to a nearby hospital. While at the hospital Mia enters a state where she is not dead but shes not up and living. She can see people but they can't see her, she can see herself but still get up and move around as a spirit type of thing. The whole book moves back and forth between her in the hospital and her having flashbacks. This book is a romantic book. It makes you laugh and cry. I was never bored because right when it was sad or coming to a boring point she would have a flashback. I would recommend this book to someone that likes to have to book move in and out of the moment. Romance.
