I want to invite anyone that wishes to read this version with me to comment. You do not necessarily have to read it within this time frame. I basically just wanted a place to put some notes as i read.
I am reading this version because i am planning to read Ulysses in January. Since Samuel ? wrote all tye gods in Homer's poems as Roman gods, and Ulysses is the Roman version of Odysseus, i decided that this was the version that Joyce was most familiar with.
I don't know that that really is a good reason to read this version because i am thinking that the reason that Joyce used it was as a metaphor for the Roman Empire. The Greek would have been run by democracy the Roman by dictatorship.
Anyway i want to read this version and then maybe next year try one that is closer to the original.
