Megan (megan_morris) | 170 comments This book brought a lot of emotions up for me. So where recently I've been just posting in the progress threads I thought I would start my own about this book. After a while I questioned Brockhurst because I don't remember a Brockhurst myself growing up in Muskoka and when I finally came to the realisation that Brockhurst must be Gravenhurst I cried. This book brings up so many emotions for me. Taking place during the second world war and mentioning the war camps which resided across from my old house and familiar towns and what I imagine was lake Muskoka. I found myself feeling a little homesick now living on the other side of the country.

Has anyone else read this? Has anyone else visited or lived in Muskoka?

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 319 comments I grew up just north of Huntsville. I did not realize that there were POW camps in the area. I am going to look this book up.

Megan (megan_morris) | 170 comments There certainly was war camps. They were in Gravenhurst, in the aerial pictures of those war camps you can actually see the house I grew up in years and years later.

Carly Anne | 1 comments I haven't read the book, I'm only commenting on you geography. My ex's family had a cottage in the muskokas so i have visited a few times. You say you live on the other side of the country, just curious where abouts! I'm on Vancouver island.

Megan (megan_morris) | 170 comments Haha I'm not quite that far but I'm in northern Alberta.
