Everyone knows that you should be safely behind locked doors when the sky notches into ten turn and the Darkness comes.

Bolt the door, no eyes on the Dark. That's what the Law says. Because the Dark is when the Terrors come and they will take anyone who is still abroad.

Kori lives with her parents at a farm by the edge of the world. The sky arcs down into the ground. It is cool to the touch, shiny and hard. But today there is something wrong with the sky. Kori can feel it through her fingertips. Something inside the sky is grumbling, like grit caught in the cogs of a machine.

Kori must confront her own fears about the Dark as she is drawn into a deadly civil war.

To Know the Dark is science fiction/ fantasy for people who don't like SFF.
