I had thought of that as well when reading about the key and locket, but I didn't get as far as you did. It makes sense and I'd love that to be true. What a child! lol
that's the first thing that came to mind when I read this.
That exactly what I was thinking. How many are supposed to be in this series?
Well looks like we were on to something. We should have our theory tested soon enough.

I am a quarter of the way through Sixth Grave on the Edge - lovin' it as I always do.
Charley mentions getting ready to go to the "girls-parts doctor." Garrett discusses how Satan's goal was for Charley to be dead/incorporeal/not human. For some reason unknown to them she is a bigger threat as a human.
....What if Charley gets pregnant with Reyes' child while they are both in human form? Is this what is alluded to when the key of darkness has been inserted into the locket of light? Is this an analogy for supernatural sperm going into supernatural egg, rather than just having sex? Would their child be Satan's downfall as it would inherit both the powers of darkness and light?
I noticed that the author has placed lines about Charley voicing her aversion to having children, however, Charley is in no way taking birth control precautions with Reyes.
If she is incorporeal, she can't physically bear Reyes' child. Therefore, the demons from hell have been trying to kill both Charley and Reyes in their human form since they have been born. It's sort of like the original "Terminator" movie: kill Sarah Connor before she gives birth.
Thought I'd share my theory with other fans out there and see what your thoughts were. :)
