I thought it might be easier to generate a good discussion if we all got to know each other a little better. Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself, plus what you are currently reading, and your favorite book(s) and movie(s).

My name is Rebecca and I'm the Coordinator, Library Communications & E-Services for the Region of Waterloo Library. I love working for the library because it gives me the opportunity to meet and help a lot of people. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Derek and our cats Cheerio and Garfunkel.

Reading right now:
Favorite Books: Harry Potter series, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and East Lynne
Favorite Movies: Gone with the Wind, Dangerous Beauty, Moulin Rouge

Jennifer | 5 comments Hello,
I haven't been active posting much lately, but I've been following the discussions. I too work at RWL and you can usually find me at the Elmira branch. Outside of work I like to play games - mostly boardgames and other social games. I also like to go to interesting events like Nerd Nite or various fan conventions.

Reading now: The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and Icons by Margaret Stohl.
Favourite books: Mist of Avalon, the Sookie Stackhouse series, ... And another dozen authors too. ;-)
Favourite Movies: Grosse Pointe Blank, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Red Violin.

Hi everyone,

Another RWL employee here! I work at the Wellesley branch now but previously was at the Baden, New Hamburg, and New Dundee branches so you may have seen me there in the past.

I am loving every minute in Wellesley because I get to do the Baby & Me, Wonderful Ones, and Bedtime Stories programs there. As the mom of a toddler (16 month old boy), I enjoy being around little ones all the time. :) It makes me smile to see how they explore their world. They are like little scientists, always experimenting to see what will happen next!

Currently reading: Grace-Based Parenting and The Girl Who Could Silence the Wind

Favourite (recently watched) movies: Frozen, Saving Mr. Banks (because I also love Mary Poppins!)

P.S. Rebecca, those are great cats' names!

Heather Pearson (heatherpearson) | 53 comments HI All, I live in Conestogo, and visit the St. Jacobs branch, mostly browsing online and requesting books. I am always on the look out for books by First Nations Authors. I spend most of my time working on quilting and knitting and lots of cooking. Lately have been exploring raw vegan options. I have a blog where I write about my needlework, post book reviews and share my Zentangles. www.heatherpearson.com

Currently reading: Hollow City: the second novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Favourite Author: Charles de Lint

Thanks for sharing Leanne and Heather! I can't wait to hear from more of you.

YZ | 21 comments I'm Yvonne and I live in New Hamburg, and also work in New Hamburg, at the library. Its probably one of the best jobs in the world (most of the time).

I love to read, of course, and I'm a very eclectic reader. I love to try books that someone says they really enjoyed, just to see what I think of them.

Outside of work, I have a rather large dog, Wolfe (Plains of Abraham anyone) who demands a lot of exercise, 5 cats, and the fish that will not die. There is also a son hiding in my basement somewhere. I love nature and gardening, and this past weekend left me breathless when we watched hundreds of tundra swans on the Lake Erie shore.

Currently between books, but my nightstand has piled up: "Lifeboat" by Charlotte Rogan, "What she left behind" by Ellen Marie Wiseman, "Moving target" by JA Jance, and "Do or die" by Suzanne Brockmann.

Latest really memorable read: "The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks".
