Gregor Xane (gregorxane) | 22 comments Lucius Shepard was great. This is the first I've heard of his death. I'm quite saddened to hear this news.

Trujillo is a fantastic book. Everything I've read from him was a step above, in fact. I'll have to pick something up by him very soon to honor his memory.

Jordan West | 17 comments I have yet to read more than a few of Shepard's work, but I can most definitely recommend his phantasmagorical horror novel The Golden, which is the equivalent in prose of a Jean Rollin vampire film as set in Gormenghast/Malpertuis.

Karl I recently read Mr. Shepard's book "Five Autobiographies And A Fiction" and found it to be wonderfully written. The first book I recall reading by him was "Green Eyes" back in 1986, and next "Life During Wartime" from 1987. I can not recall a poorly written word in any of his work. I believe he has one more Dragon Griaule book to be published by Subterranean Press some time soon.

I believe there are 2 different versions published of this book with different content. One was from PS Publishing in the UK and the other was from Night Shade Books here in the US.

Yeah, it looks like the PS version might have had a mess of short stories included. I read the Night Shade version, which was just the short novel.
