Understanding??

I was just wondering, this book peeks my interest but I was just wondering if you have to read any other books to understand this one of if there are going to be any other books after this one or is it just going to be a standalone for these two characters and their journey.
Because I only have a basic understanding of all the films, and would like to jump into something out of my comfort zone.

This book stands on its own. There is enough resolution to make it a satisfying read alone, but it is possible that there may be a sequel book someday.

All you need is to have watched the original three films for maximum enjoyment.

Yeah to really enjoy this the original trilogy is a must but otherwise this is a great one time read without worrying about other books or sequels
