Waiting on the Sidelines (Waiting on the Sidelines #1) by Ginger Scott - Starting April 14th 2014
Whoa..what a long blub. I'm kinda lazy reading a long blurb and sometime it kills my mood to read the book :) But since it's buddy read, I can bear it lol
I'm going to read it a bit early guys, hope you don't mind. Not only the blurb, this book also has longer pages that I used to read in YA books. I hope it's a good book, though because it will really wasting my time if I end up not like it.

I know exactly what you mean. she tells us more than we'd ever need to know!

I'm leaving this for a bit to give you chance to catch up Rachmi. This book feels soooooo long though.
Sarah wrote: "I'm leaving this for a bit to give you chance to catch up Rachmi. This book feels soooooo long though."Agree, Sarah. Although at some point I enjoy reading it, I also feel like it's just too long. Now I'm sure that the author takes the story about 3 to 4 years Nolan's life in high school. I was wondering why didn't she just split it into sequels or focus on Nolan's junior or senior year, and just a recap of freshman and sophomore year to avoid the dragging.
I'm almost half-way and its summer again. I think it was summer when the book started too as she was shopping for school clothes, so you must be right about it covering more than one year.

Otherwise, the story will be more detail than already is. And it's a no no because it's already too detail to me.
I'm on chapter 18 now, I think. I lost track since it's basically the same to me :D Have you read the part with Sean? if you have (view spoiler)
I agree. She likes reed, but still goes out with other boys! She knows she won't love them the way she loves reed!
Sarah wrote: "I agree. She likes reed, but still goes out with other boys! She knows she won't love them the way she loves reed!"Do you think it's because she's still so young? I mean she's teenager, barely 15 yo so maybe she doesn't think the way we think now :D
I must stop reading your progress since I'm only at chapter 18 and am at the office now. So I'll continue reading it tonight when I'm at home :DWhat time is it at your country, by the way? I think you're way earlier than usually I see you online here in GR.
Sarah wrote: "It's 08.38. I woke up early this morning so I've been up since about 06.30."I wish I'm still at home, reading with a cup of hot chocolate since it's so cold here now.
Sarah wrote: "It's not too bad here. Think it's about 8 degrees celcius."Hah! 8 degrees Celcius isn't that bad? I think it's about 20 degree here and am so cold :D
I just didn't like it. there was so much in there that didn't need to be in there, and it really dragged ☹
Sarah wrote: "I just didn't like it. there was so much in there that didn't need to be in there, and it really dragged ☹"Now I'm wondering why most readers gave it 4 stars. Even before half of the story, I do feel it's already dragged out.
I don't know. It just seemed to go on and on. the number of times they were on and then off again got silly, and the amount of stuff we didn't need to know was ridiculous.
Sarah wrote: "I don't know. It just seemed to go on and on. the number of times they were on and then off again got silly, and the amount of stuff we didn't need to know was ridiculous."That unnecessary stuff really annoyed me too. And also what happen to Sean and Tyler are similar to me, yet Nolan couldn't learn from her relationship with Sean.
Sarah wrote: "[spoilers removed]"Glad I didn't misunderstand it. And yes, it sounds like that. It's so weird. I mean Nolan can be very descriptive and detail about everything and nothing, but she can also vague with the way she talks. Do you know what I mean?
Sarah wrote: "I already have it too. Maybe I'll read it next time we do the series read-along challenge."We better buddy read it. I find it's more bearable if I buddy read books I don't quite like :D

Throughout the next four years, Nolan struggles to maintain herself throughout her path of discovery, learning just how cruel teenagers can be through the pressures of underage drinking, sexuality and class. And despite how life seems to continue to work against her, she still manages to listen to her heart, falling deeper and deeper for the guy the entire town adores, even if he only sees her as a friend. Can Nolan strike a compromise between her own integrity and the boy she loves? And can she make him notice her before it’s too late?
Reed Johnson came to Coolidge High School with a lot of fanfare. The son of a hometown football legend and the brother of a local football hero, Reed wore all the pressures of carrying a town without hope into the spotlight. Thankfully, he had the talent to back it up. But when he meets a girl who makes him think twice about exactly what being a hero means, he starts to wonder if following in his brother’s footsteps might be all wrong.
Nolan Lennox was everything that was opposite of expected. She didn’t flirt, she didn’t drink and she didn’t sleep around. Nothing about her was easy, but something about her made Reed want to try harder. Though she didn’t look the part, she seemed to be spending a lot of time in Reed’s thoughts, and he wondered if she could be the one who made it all worthwhile. But could Reed handle letting her down? And would breaking her heart break him beyond repair?
Waiting on the Sidelines explores young love to its fullest, exposing how real young heartbreak and passion is and how important it is to discover yourself and hold onto your own identity. The story follows two young characters as they deal with mature situations, including the prevalence of bullying and promiscuity in today’s high school setting. Ultimately, Waiting on the Sidelines is a story of hope, honesty and those powerful, first true loves—the ones worth holding onto at any cost.
Tatiana, Rachmi, and I will be reading this from April 14th 2014. Everybody welcome ☺
