A Wrinkle in Time Initial Impressions

I didn't read this as a child, so I don't have any nostalgia painting my glasses rosy. I really enjoyed how realistic Meg's character is, and I loved the prose. However, I was more of less bored any time they were on Camazotz. Like most middle grade/younger YA books, I felt like it just ended.

That said, I still checked out the rest of the books in the series. :)

And I wonder if it's a lack of world-building which distracts me. Fascinating.

That's what I think! I feel that way about most Middle Grade books, actually. That I am missing world building and character development and nuance. I just... want it to be more modern-day-YA in structure.

Which makes me wonder if I've lost my childish spark.
