If 9643343227 is a valid ISBN, then it is the 10 digit ISBN for a book with EAN 9789643343224. It is not possible for that ISBN to belong to any other book.

If you could answer would be great:

This book was originally published in three parts
The Third Rule - Part One: Atrocities
The Third Rule - Part Two: Running Scared
The Third Rule - Part Three: Sacrifices
and now republished in one book.
Is the way I created the series (Eddie Collins series) correct or should I make kind of sub-series for the first publication or tick off these from primary work fields?

If you can't answer I'll post it in the correct section.

Officially that is indeed not supposed to happen. Publishers sometimes re-use an isbn.

They were already recombined. I have separated them and the duplicate is queued for merging (again).
Update: the merge has gone trough. Recombined the remaining hardcover edition.

Since many people have marked it as "to read", it might be better to remove the ISBN and make a note that it is changing publishers, rather than deleting all together.

I'm asking on behalf of the author - they are self-published ebooks and are no longer available. As they have less than 5 reviews, I thought I should be able to do this as a librarian, but I got an error message.

That wasn't actually a duplicate. When different editions of a book have different primary authors, that happens. All fixed.
