Okay so I'm sending a lot of relationship confusion, for once not just between the MC! I feel like Lekan loves Ceridwen, while Ceridwen loves Jesse, who's married to Raelyn but who he doesn't love, while Raelyn loves him... Right? XD

Oh wow Ceridwen's going to kill her brother, all because he's taking slaves from Ventralli, from her lover's kingdom? But it's alright if he's somehow like Angra.. But how does that work? I thought only Angra had the Decay, the bad magic... Can more than 1 person have it??

Finished: This book was average. I almost didn't want to pick it up again this month. Quite pleased I did though, but one thing that really got me down was how they didn't really explain anything from the first book. As it's been a while since I read the first one, I couldn't remember much that happened (view spoiler)[in regards to Theron.. (hide spoiler)] I suppose I also should have paid more attention when they found (view spoiler)[the magic chasm cavern, because I got confused when they were searching for stuff. Couldn't remember what they were searching for. (hide spoiler)] It just seemed way too disbelieving how (view spoiler)[Meira always knew where to look first try in all of the kingdoms :/ (hide spoiler)] And what did I say, (view spoiler)[Theron's been evil all along! I knew it! (hide spoiler)] Made me sad though :( I'm pleased with the way we got chapters from Mather's POV this time as well, and the way he (view spoiler)[created the Children of the Thaw. (hide spoiler)] Liked that little side story. I will read Frost Like Night. Hope it's better than this one.

Okay, I'm going to type up my comments for where I mostly am in the book for this BR thread and for the other books I am reading at the moment! Then I will dive back into this book :D

Chapter 3: (view spoiler)[Well, it's already started off at a great pace - which is a huge improvement from the first book because I thought it started off so slowly. I also think it's really weird how Meira's love interest is now Theron... I'm so confused because wasn't her love interest in the other book Mather!?!? Has it been so long since I've read the first book that I don't even remember her love interests switching?!? Well, may the odds be ever in her love interests favor because at this point I don't care who she ends up with - as long as she's happy. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 8: (view spoiler)[Okay I'm thinking of so many other books while I'm reading these chapters. Like I just finished the Girl of Fire and Thorns series and Meira being Queen definitely reminds me of Elisa - I just wonder how Meira being queen will play out. Will it be a happy ending? Or not? Also, I feel like I might have misread something here because did Theron really betray her?!? Someone tell me that isn't true. Please let me be super blind to that part of the book!! (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 12: (view spoiler)[All of this political shit is getting so boring. Also, I feel like I should mention (because it happened in between chapters 8-12) that Meira is slightly annoying me. I don't care about her being Queen and fighting against her inner orphan self. It's annoying as fuck. I also feel so freaking bad for Mather because he deserves way better than how Meira treated him. She should apologize to him for treating him like trash. I also want a bunch of people to die. (hide spoiler)]
