Chapter 7:(view spoiler)[ This whole queen thing with Meira reminds me a lot of Girl of Fire and Thorns. It reminds me of when Elisa first became queen and had to learn what it means to be a queen except Meira has added powers she can't control. I can't wait till the day where she'll finally blast Noam off Winter for good. (hide spoiler)]

Up to Chapter 17: (view spoiler)[ This is really frustrating. Theron is completely delusional. First of all, we are talking about kingdoms with their own rulers. No one is going to want to give up that power. Even if they want peace, someone will have to lead the unified world and no one's going to just give up their power to another leader. That's no different than letting someone take your kingdom. Second of all, how can Theron even determine who gets that power and who is fit for that power. I think he really just wants power and magic all on his own.

Simon is an ass and there is no way he agree so easily to Theron's plans without some kind of hidden agenda. I like Ceridwen though. I'm glad that Meira seems to have made an ally in Summer and thankfully, it's not Simon. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 22: (view spoiler)[ Ughhhhh...this is DRAGGING...it took her one chapter to find the first key. There's what? 3-4 keys? So if it's 1 chapter per key then it'll take only 4 chapters for the main goal of this book. The rest is basically filler. I want to know more about what she would actually do after she has all the keys. How is she going to stop Noam from taking Winter. These are actually in line with the plot. The rest is just dragging the story.

Meira's also frustrating. She keeps saying she'll become worthy of her kindgom's respect or she'll be a worthy queen but she's not open minded at all. I get it, she's young and she wasn't raised to be a queen. She didn't learn any of this political crap but she can't help everyone. She wants everyone even people outside of her own kingdom to live perfectly the way she views what is right for society. If they're not then she hates them and the royal governing that place is an enemy. How can you build relationships like that without trying to understand their own system. Her kingdom doesn't even have a system itself. She wants to be out there having an adventure and helping everyone when she can't even help her own kingdom. It's just frustrating! (hide spoiler)]

From chapter one, there's been important things happening with the story, which tells me I won't get bored with this book. And I really don't like Theron, he's already betrayed her, who's to say he's not going to do it again once they get the magic chamber open? I guess we'll find out though. I also don't really care for Theron much, he's meh! I love Meira's determination and I'm sure she'll save everyone from the Decay and Angra(?). They need an intense heart to heart to sort out everything and then they need to be friends again! I hate Noam. I want him to go away forever. Not really feeling the Meira x Theron dynamic anymore. I don't get why Meira thinks she can't do that as well. I hate how everyone is like you can't do that you're the Queen. For fuck's sake she can do whatever the hell she wants, she's the Queen. Be a Queen Meira and tell everyone to shove off. Also I can't believe she was so stupid and didn't hide the key as soon as she grabbed. Like really??? Chapter 16: (view spoiler)[ I don't know why I'm not finding this interesting, it feels like a struggle to read. I hate Noam and all of his snide comments. I also feel like he had something to do with Theron's wife. I don't even trust him and I feel like he is going to betray them. Also, why does a brothel tour need to take 3 hours?? I mean, we can all assume that perverts are the regulars so 3 hours seems unnecessary. And it was only a matter of time for Theron to figure out what Ceridwen and Meira up to. I really did support Mather and Meira's relationship because they could combined their 2 kingdoms and they would have been unstoppable. They're both badasses! (hide spoiler)]

I'm kind of glad that Noam is dead, but I never expected THERON of all people to kill him. I was hoping either Meira or Mather would. Plus Simon is dead. I was really thinking Jesse was going to die there too, but not yet! I'm hoping Ceridwen is all good and that Raelyn will be taken down soon. I'm curious to see what kind of answers Rares has for Meira. AND WHAT WAS THAT WITH MEIRA & MATHER?? YAS YAS I WANT IT TO HAPPEN <3 (hide spoiler)]

And holy plot twist Meira so strong that she has to pitch herself into a chasm to save her people? The pace was kind of slow in this one, very much like the first book. Frost Like Night comes out soon so hopefully I can read it before I start school again. What really got to me was when Meira ordered Mather to rescue Ceridwen from Raelyn and his face of defeat! I hope either she or Cerie gets to kill Raelyn in the end. I want Cerie & Jesse to end up together and happy! They seem so adorable!!
