Adrienne (theliteratureexplorer) | 1 comments Hello Everyone,

My name is Adrienne. I am currently working on a Masters in Library and Information focusing on youth services. I just want to find out what you like to read. If you have time, answer the following questions:

1.Tell me about yourself. (Age, Location)

2.Do you read for pleasure or information, outside of your assigned schoolwork? If not, why not?

3.What kind of materials do you read? What format? Examples: books, magazines, graphic novels, manga, ebooks, newspapers, internet news sites?

4. What is the title of the last book you read for fun? Comments: What was it about, how much did you like it, how did you select it?

5.What is the title of the last book you read for school? Comments: What was it about, how much did you like it, who assigned it?

6.Do you have a favorite series? If not, what series are popular with friends or classmates?

7.Do you have your own personal collection of books or other reading materials? If yes, what kind of materials do you collect? Do you buy your own reading materials? If not, who buys them or how do you obtain them? Do you buy reading materials online or in bookstores?

8.Do you borrow books and other reading material from your school or public library?

9.Do you have or do you use an e-reader like a kindle, nook, ipad, etc.? How do you like reading in this format?

10.How do you choose your reading materials? What influences your selections? Recommendations from friends, family members, librarians, teachers? Do you read reviews in print or online? Do you make selections based on cover art?

11.Some critics believe that the subject matter of contemporary young adult literature is too “dark”, too grim, negative and harsh. What do you think?

12.How would you describe your perfect book?

Thank you for your responses. I appreciate it.

Best,
Adrienne
